NAC Field Hockey Squads Honored by NFHCA
The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) was well-represented on the recent Gladiator by SGI/National Field Hockey Coaches' Association Division III Academic Awards. Eighty-two student-athletes, representing nine teams were named to the Academic Squad, while eight teams received the academic team award.
Castleton, UMF, Husson, Lasell, New England College, Rivier, Simmons and Thomas were among 125 Division III teams honored by the NFHCA, achieving a team grade point average of at least 3.0. Simmons was also honored as a top-five team, posting a team GPA of 3.54 which tied for fourth best in the country.
Additionally, 82 student-athletes, representing the previously mentioned eight teams and St. Joseph's (Me.) were also named to the Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad.
The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2012-13 academic year.
Of the 82 student-athletes recognized the NAC also had seven recognized as scholars of distinction for achieving a GPA above 3.90.
