PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Tyler Thayer, Maine Maritime

Thayer helped lead the Mariners to a 1-1 week, as he averaged 21.5 points, 6.5 assists, four rebounds, and one steal, while shooting 51.9% (14-of-27) from the field. In a tough 74-69 overtime loss to Castleton, the junior tallied 12 points, seven assists, three rebounds and one steal. Then in a 93-78 win over Green Mountain, the guard netted a career-high 31 points, as he notched his 1,000th career point and shot an impressive 10-for-10 from the floor to tie the MMA single-game record for field goal percentage. Thayer also recorded six assists, five rebounds, and one steal in the 15-point victory.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Dana Bean, Colby-Sawyer

Bean averaged 15.3 points and nine rebounds in a tough 1-2 week for the Chargers. The rookie began the week with his eighth double-double of the season in a close 93-91 double overtime loss to Johnson State, as he recorded 19 points, 12 rebounds, one assist and one steal. Then the center just missed out on a double-double in the Chargers' 70-60 victory over UMaine-Farmington with nine points and nine rebounds. Bean finished the week with 18 points and six rebounds, while shooting 53.8% (7-of-13) from the field in a tough 90-77 loss at Thomas.
AROUND THE NAC
Castleton went 1-1 on its second Maine road trip of the season. In the third overtime game in its last seven contests, the Spartans defeated Maine Maritime, 74-69. Chad Copeland scored 30 points, while Edmund Fitzgerald notched his fifth double-double of the season with 18 points and 11 rebounds. In Saturday's loss at Husson, Pavin Parrish scored a season-high 20 points. With tournament positioning on the line, Castleton travels to Lyndon on Thursday before closing out the regular season by hosting Johnson State Saturday.
Colby-Sawyer went 1-2 in three NAC games last week. After falling in double overtime to Johnson State, Colby-Sawyer won at UMaine-Farmington, 70-60. The week ended with a tough 90-77 loss at Thomas. The team will wrap up the regular season this Saturday at New England College.
UMaine-Farmington went 1-1 over the weekend and had a big win against NEC to keep the Beavers in the postseason race.
Green Mountain dropped two games this past week on a road trip to Maine, falling to Husson and Maine Maritime. The Eagles will travel to Johnson State on Thursday before hosting Lyndon on Saturday to finish out the regular season.
Husson had a big three win week as they increased to a five-game win streak. At Colby on Tuesday, the Eagles sailed past with an 89-69 win. On Friday and Saturday, Husson hosted Green Mountain and won 70-45 and then Castleton, capturing a 85-59 victory. This next week will close out the regular season with two games. The team will travel to Thomas on Wednesday and then host UMaine-Farmington.
Johnson State went 1-1 on the week, with a 93-91 double overtime victory over Colby-Sawyer on Wednesday, followed by a loss to Lyndon on Saturday. Kawaun Chavis led Johnson with 21 points per game. Johnson will host the final home game of the season Thursday against Green Mountain, followed by the Badgers' regular season finale at Castleton on Saturday.
Lyndon finished the week 2-0. The Hornets won a hard fought contest at New England College, 80-72, on Wednesday night. On Saturday, the Hornets celebrated Senior Day with a 70-55 victory over Johnson State. Josiah Woodruff led the team averaging 20 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.5 steals per game while also going 9-for-9 from the charity stripe on the week. Lyndon hosts Castleton Thursday night before finishing out regular season play at Green Mountain on Saturday.
Maine Maritime went 1-1 this week, first falling to Castleton in overtime on Friday night, 74-69 and then defeating Green Mountain on Saturday, 93-78. In the win against the Eagles, junior Tyler Thayer scored a career-high 31 points, shooting a perfect 10-of-10 from the floor on his way to his 1,000th career point. Thayer is the 11th MMA men's basketball to reach the mark and the fourth fastest player to do so. Maine Maritime concludes the regular season with a trip to UMaine-Farmington on Wednesday before hosting Thomas on Saturday.
New England College dropped three conference games last week, falling to Lyndon, Thomas and UMaine-Farmington. The Pilgrims will finish out the regular season on Saturday as the team will play host to Colby-Sawyer.
Thomas completed a weekend sweep as they finished 2-0 in conference play. On Friday, the Terriers defeated New England College, 80-78, behind a double-double from Carlos Gonzalez (22 points, 11 rebounds). Thomas finished with a 90-77 victory over Colby-Sawyer. Tyheem Simon and Zach Mackinnon each chipped in with 23 points in the win.
