Farmington's Tanguay receives Academic All-District accolades

FARMINGTON, Maine -- University of Maine at Farmington senior
center Josh Tanguay (Gorham, ME) was recognized on the ESPN The
Magazine/COSIDA Academic All-District 1 Men's Basketball Team as
announced by COSIDA today.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important
reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a
4.0 scale), have participated in at least 50 percent of the
team’s games and has completed one full calendar year at
his/her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic
eligibility.
Tanguay was honored on the District 1 College Division Second Team.
A psychology major, he has a cumulative GPA of 3.90. There is a
University Division (NCAA Division I programs) and a College
Division (DII, DIII, NAIA, NJCAA programs) for men's and women's
basketball.
A four-year starter for the Beavers, Tanguay is averaging 11.8
points per game and a team-best 9.4 rebounds per game this season.
He leads the team in field-goal percentage (.601) and blocked shots
(13).
In 2008-2009, Tanguay was named to the All-North Atlantic
Conference First Team and NAC All-Academic Team. He averaged 13.1
ppg and 9.1 rpg
