Husson's Dugas Ties for 12th After Final Round of NCAA Men's Golf Championship
Husson freshman Eric Dugas (Pittsfield, Maine) competed in the fourth round of the 2018 NCAA Men's Golf Championship on Friday and finished tied for 12th in a field of 217 golfers at the four-round event held at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Dugas ended the championship carding a 291 after entering the clubhouse on Friday with a 69 on the par-72 7150-yard East Course. He opened play on Tuesday with a 75 on the East Course before shooting an even par 72 on the 6780-yard West Course Wednesday afternoon. On Thursday, after the field was cut to the top-18 teams and six individuals not on an advancing team, the freshman carded a 75 on the East Course.
Dugas' finish of 12th place at the national event ties the highest individual finish in program history (Joe Alvarez '02 finished tied for 12th at the 2002 NAIA National Championship) and the highest since Husson joined the NCAA in the fall of 2003, while recording the lowest four-day tournament score in program history.
This concludes the 2017-18 season for the Husson men's golf team.
