Castleton's Zach Davidson PLAYER OF THE WEEK

 Davidson was instrumental in Castleton's season-opening 12-10 victory over Southern Maine with his four-point day. The sophomore recorded all four of his points in the second half as the Spartans came back from an 8-3 deficit to win. He led off the scoring in the third period, and then in the fourth found Sam Bailey to cut the Huskies' lead to 8-7. With just 3:55 left Davidson gave Castleton a 10-9 lead and 41 seconds later found Alex Green for the 11-9 advantage, one they wouldn't relinquish.





Castleton's Peter Latulippe ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

 Latulippe helped spark Castleton in its 12-10 comeback victory over Southern Maine on Saturday. The freshman goalie entered at the start of the second half with his team trailing 6-2. In his 30 minutes of action he allowed just four goals while making six saves and collecting a pair of ground balls to earn the victory in his first career appearance.




Castleton used a second-half surge to complete a comeback victory over Southern Maine on Saturday in its season-opener, beating the Huskies 12-10. Alex Green and Alex Denny each had three goals, while Zach Davidson and Sam Bailey notched two each. Castleton is 1-0 and hosts RPI on Tuesday before traveling to Western Connecticut St. on Saturday.

UMF opens its 2013 season this Saturday, March 9, when it hosts Wheelock College in a game played at Thomas College.

Green Mountain will play be on the road for its season opener on March 10th against Daniel Webster. The game will be played at Rivier College with first face-off set for 2 pm.

Husson started off its season with a game at St. Joseph's (ME). Junior Chris DelGiudice scored two for the Eagles, but they dropped a 14-4 result. The team was ranked third in the NAC preseason poll and will look to take on Anna Maria in their home opener this Wednesday.

Johnson State will host Olivet College at St. Michael's College on Sunday March 10th at 1:00pm. The Badgers look to improve upon last year's record, in which they ended 1-10 overall. 

Lyndon opened the 2013 season on Wednesday, Feb. 27 with an 18-3 loss to Rivier. The Hornets return to action on Thursday, March 14 when they host Olivet at 3 p.m. at St. Michael's College.

Maine Maritime dropped a pair of games over the weekend to open the season 0-2. Sophomore Nick Betti scored 12 of the 20 Mariner goals in losses to UMass-Boston and SUNY-Maritime. 

New England College fell to Babson College 17-8 in their season opener on Saturday. Leading the way for the Pilgrims was Brian Gillis who finished with four goals and two assists, while Matt Goyette scored a goal and dished out an assist for the Pilgrims.

Thomas will kick off the 2013 campaign on Wednesday, March 6 when the Terriers travel to Nichols for a non-conference matchup at 7 p.m.
