NAC Softball All-Conference Teams Announced
Lasell College senior catcher Jayme Rautenberg was honored as the North Atlantic Conference Softball Player of the Year in a vote by the conference coaches. Rautenberg, the NAC Player of the Year in 2005 as well, led the conference in hits (49), runs batted in (40) and total bases (80). With a team leading seven home runs and hitting .454 at the plate, Rautenberg led Lasell to an 11-1 conference mark and a 25-10 overall record.
Lesley catcher Jodi Fralick was selected as the NAC Softball Rookie of the Year. The freshman was among the league leaders in batting average (.469), hits (46), runs scored (40) and runs batted in (32).
After leading his squad to the top seed in the NAC Championship, Lasell head coach Tom Defillipo was named NAC Softball Coach of the Year.
Elms College was honored with the Team Sportsmanship Award. NAC all-conference selections are determined by a vote of the conference coaches. Additional players honored are due to ties in the voting.
