Two North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's lacrosse teams receive 2017 Division III Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad recognition, while five student-athletes were named to the IWLCA Zags Division III Academic Honor Roll for their success in the classroom.
Castleton University and Maine Maritime Academy were two of 311 schools across Division I, II, III, and NAIA (143 in Division III) to be tabbed academic honor squads for the 2016-17 academic year. To qualify for this prestigious honor, the women's lacrosse team must have posted a 3.0 or higher team GPA for the academic year.

Castleton's Nadine Downing (Cortland, N.Y.), Sabrina Hosner (Penticton, B.C.) and Ashley Pelkey (Barre, Vt.) and Maine Maritime's Haley Eckert (Harrington, Maine) and Leah Libby were named to the Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student in 2016-17 and have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above. In total, 532 student-athletes from 159 different Division III institutions were named to the IWLCA/Zag Sports Academic Honor Roll.
