Lexie Walker, a volleyball student athlete at Northern Vermont-Lyndon and the president of the NAC SAAC, and Amira Jones, a former basketball student athlete at Thomas College and a participant in the NCAA DIII Student Immersion program, soaked up the sun and some insight into Division III athletics at the 2019 NCAA Convention in Orlando at the end of January.
Thomas College student athlete Cassie Contigiani was elected by her peers to serve as an Associate Member of the NCAA Division III National Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). The vote occurred at the NAC SAAC Fall Retreat in November, and her service became effective at the conclusion of the 2019 NCAA Convention in January.

SAAC is supporting the "Seize the Awkward" campaign which highlights the importance of mental health awareness with college students, by encouraging them to reach out to their friends and "Seize the Awkwardness" that might come with talking about mental health.
Students interacted with their peers, gained perspective from a former Olympian and seniors from a local nursing home, learned more about themselves, and discussed important business related to their roles as SAAC leaders.

WORCESTER, Mass. - Members of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) came together recently for a day-long leadership seminar hosted by the ECAC at the Hilton Garden Inn in Worcester, Mass. Over 70 student-athletes representing three Division III New England Conferences, including nearly 20 from NAC member institutions, participated in an interactive lecture as part of the student-athlete leadership seminar.
The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) recently teamed up with the York Middle School in Maine for the conference’s annual community service event. Together 15 student-athletes, from nine member schools, participated in the day-long event.
