MEN'S BASKETBALL

Player of the Week

Justice Kendall, Husson
(Sophomore, G - Baltimore, Maryland

Opening up the season on a strong note, Kendall drained a career-high 23 points and added nine assists as Husson cruised to a 112-96 victory over Pine Manor College on Saturday afternoon. He was six-for-six from the charity stripe, and also notched a rebound and a steal while not turning the ball over in 37 minutes on the court.

 

 

 

Rookie of the Week

Jaymes Savage, Northern Vermont-Johnson
First-year, F - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
 
Savage was named to the NVU Tip-Off Classic All-Tournament Team for his performance in the opening games of the season for NVU-Johnson. First, he scored 12 points and provided six rebounds in a loss to MCLA. The following day, Savage pushed the pace in transition and scored a team-high 17 points on 70 percent shooting from the field, and added four rebounds in the 95-87 win over Vermont Technical College.

 

 

 

 

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Player of the Week

Kaylee Ravagli, Thomas
Sophomore, G - Lowell, Massachusetts

Ravagli averaged 17 points and 2.5 steals per game in the Terriers season-opening tournament hosted by Maine Maritime at The Pit in Orono, Maine. She led Thomas with a career-high 19 points, along with three rebounds, three steals, and an assist in a loss to UMass Boston on Saturday. She was three-for-six from three-point range in the game while making eight-of-nine free throw attempts. She added 15 points in a loss to Wheaton on Saturday, pulling in three boards, two steals, and an assist, while going 5-for-5 from the free throw line.

 

 

 

Rookie of the Week

Joie Culkin, SUNY Canton
First-year, F - Spencerport, New York

Culkin averaged 15 points, 10.5 rebounds, and two steals per game in her first two collegiate contests. She opened the season with a game-high 20 points, and added four rebounds, two steals, and a block in a loss to Coast Guard Academy. The rookie followed up with her first double-double, tallying 10 points, a game-best 17 rebounds, two steals, a block, and an assist in a loss to Cazenovia. For her performance on the weekend, Culkin was named to the All-Tournament Team.
