FARMINGTON, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington and the Waterville Country Club will play host to the 2012 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Men's Golf Championship Saturday and Sunday, October 13 and 14.
The 36-hole event will begin Saturday at 11 am, and will conclude Sunday after all rounds have been completed. Tee times for Sunday's final round will begin at 10 am.
Eight teams will vie for the conference title that has been held by Husson University for the last six seasons.
Husson, which finished tied atop the NAC Preseason Coaches' Poll with Salem State, is led by Bill Hutchins, a two-time NAC Player of the Week in 2012 as well as 2011 All-Conference Honoree Matt DuBois. Salem State, which finished just one stroke back in the 2011 championship, will look to Tom Grant and Matt Sebet, both all-conference first-team recipients a year ago, to lead the charge.
Brian Fitzgerald, the 2011 NAC Rookie of the Year, will lead Castleton into the tournament, while Maine Maritime hopes to lean on the duo of Keenan Kalthoff and Dan Mackenzie – both of whom garnered weekly honors this season – to guide the Mariners.
Host UMF is led by Orion Cochrane, while Josh Reed has impressed in his first season at Johnson State. New to the conference in 2012, MCLA will look to make some noise behind Taylor Dunn while Green Mountain has been led much of the season by sophomore Chris Jenkins
