Husson Claims the 2015 NAC Men's Golf Championship Title

RUTLAND, Vt. – Husson held a two-stroke advantage after the opening day of play and never looked back, as the Eagles claimed their 10th North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship title with a two-day total of 632 this afternoon at the Rutland Country Club in Rutland, Vt.

Despite the tough conditions, the Eagles managed to record an impressive 312 in the opening round before posting a 320 on the final day to secure an automatic berth into the NCAA Championships. Last year's winner, Salem State, ended 18 strokes behind after recording a team score of 650, while Castleton turned in the second-best team score of the day (332) to secure a top-three finish with a two-day total of 657.

Just nine strokes back, Maine Maritime captured a fourth-place finish with a score of 666, followed by UMaine-Farmington (686), MCLA (755), Johnson State (761), and Green Mountain (869).

Husson's Greg Martin (pictured left, on right) turned in the best score of the tournament (144) after shooting a one-over 71 this afternoon to take home his second-straight medalist honors at the NAC Championship. Fellow Eagle, Daulton Wickenden (pictured left, on left), tallied the second best score of the day with a six-over 76.

Salem State's Tyler Conigliari and Castleton's Zach Temple tied for third after finishing the two-day tournament with a 157. Temple had a memorable day on the course, as he collected a hole-in-one on the 15h hole, which was a par-three from 129 yards out. Maine Maritime's Kevin Peppin finished in fifth with a two-day total of 160, just one-stroke ahead of teammate Keenan Kalthoff, who claimed his second consecutive top-six finish in the NAC Championship after shooting a seven-over 77.
