Husson Captures 2018 NAC Men's Cross Country Championship

BELFAST, Maine -- The Husson University Eagles claimed the 2018 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Men's Cross Country Championship on Sunday, October 28. 

Jarrod Ottman of Thomas won the NAC individual title with a time of 27:26.80. 

The Eagles earned first place after scoring 65 points with two runners in the top seven. The 8k championship race included 66 total runners, representing eight schools. 

The men's runner-up was Maine Maritime, as the Mariners turned in a 72, while SUNY Canton was third (79), NVU-Lyndon was fourth (99), followed by Thomas (102), UMaine-Farmington (108), UMaine-Presque Isle (141), and NVU-Johnson (228).

Ottman completed the course 10 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor, as Anthony Pifari of NVU-Lyndon finished second in a time of 27:36.90. Maine Maritime's Aylen Wolf was third in 28:30.80, while NVU-Lyndon's Benjamin Cornell placed fourth with a time of 28:34.40. Zach Hartman of Husson finished fifth with a time of 29:19.10, followed by SUNY Canton's Jesse Walley in sixth in 29:20.00. The Eagles' Joel Bond finished seventh in 29:24.40, while Canton's Benjamin York placed eighth in 29:44.80.
