Husson Wins NAC Golf Championship with Co-Medalists Max Woodman and Will Kavanaugh
Delhi, New York - Husson University led after the first 18 holes of the North Atlantic Conference Men's Golf Championship and held on for victory on day two. The Eagles combined for 295 Saturday and 294 on Sunday for a 36-hole total of 589, or ten over par. Four Husson players finished in the top five overall, including co-medalists Max Woodman and Will Kavanaugh.
SUNY Delhi finished in second place with a total score of 612 (309, 303). Thomas College finished third with 652 (333, 391) and SUNY Canton finished fourth with 659 (325, 334).
UMaine-Farmington finished fifth with a two-day team card of 676 (337, 339). Maine Maritime placed sixth with 694 (356, 338) and Northern Vermont-Johnson seventh with 697 (355, 342). SUNY Cobleskill finished in eighth place with a one-stroke advantage over ninth-place UMaine-Presque Isle. The Fighting tigers carded 747 (375, 372) while the Owls carded 748 (376, 372).
Max Woodman landed three birdies on day two and carded an even-par 71 to finish his second round with the overall lead at 145 (74, 71), par for the 6,549-yard course. Fellow Eagle Will Kavanaugh and Delhi's Tom Christoffsen started the second day of the championship tied with the lead at 72 strokes. Kavanaugh shot 73 on Sunday to tie Woodman for the low score at 145 with one group left to finish. Their score would hold up to share medalist honors, as Christofferson finished third with 146 (72, 74).
COMPLETE CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS
Dylan Cunningham was the top performer for Thomas College, earning First-Team All-Conference honors with a total score of 151 (75, 76). Adam Szlamcynsik was the low scorer for SUNY Canton, finishing ninth overall and on the Second Team All-Conference with a 155 card (77, 78). Ethan Straub led the Cobleskill squad with 159 (84, 75), and first-year Neil Larochelle III led UMaine-Farmington with 169 (74, 86). NVU-Johnson's best was Joe Giroux with a final score of 162 (84, 78), Maine Maritime's Will Ducey led the Mariners with 164 (82,82), and Dawson Watson was Presque Isle's best with a two-day total of 172 (87,85).
The best performance by a rookie came from Delhi's Andrew Saar. Saar finished in a tie for tenth place with a two-day total of 158 (78, 80) and Second Team All-Conference honors.

The complete list of men's golf All-Conference awardees will be released on Wednesday, October 13.
The NAC Champions will compete in the Division III Men's Golf Championship May 10-13, 2022. The Eagles will compete in a four-day, 72-hole team and individual tournament at Mission Inn Resort and Club in Fowley-in-the-Hills, Florida. After 36 holes of competition, the field will be cut to the top 18 teams and top six individuals, not on one of those teams.
