SUNY Delhi Wins Second Women's Cross Country Championship; Husson's Ava Dowling Wins Race
Waterville, Maine - SUNY Delhi just edged Husson University, scoring 46 points to the Eagles' 49 to win the 2021 NAC Women's Cross Country race. The Broncos placed all five scoring runners in the top-12 and ran a combined 2:01:05 over the 5K course. Husson's Ava Dowling (21:48.5) and Miranda Dunton (23:06.8) finished one-two overall, contributing to a second-place team finish with a combined team time of 2:00.13. First-year Ava Dowling also earned Rookie of the Year and Runner of the Year honors with the individual win.
UMaine-Farmington (88) finished in third place with two runners earning All-Conference honors. SUNY Poly (120) finished fourth, led by third-place finisher Lauren Phetteplace (23:08.6). SUNY Canton (172), UMaine-Presque Ilse (173), and Thomas College finished in a tight block fifth through seventh, while Cazenovia and Maine Maritime finished ninth and tenth, respectively.
The top fifteen runners receive All-Conference honors, with the top eight on the First Team and the next seven runners on the Second Team. Complete All-Conference honors will be announced on Tuesday, November 2nd.
