Player of the Week

Rachel Melampy, Maine Maritime
Senior | Duxbury, Massachusetts
Outside hitter Rachel Melampy hit .463 and tallied 25 kills (4.17/set) while leading Maine Maritime to victories over Husson University and the University of New England. She posted a double-double with 10 kills and 13 digs in a three-set conference win over the Eagles, and amassed 15 kills versus UNE. For the week, Melampy tallied five aces (0.83/set) and 17 digs (2.83/set) with one block assist. She tallied 30.5 points over the two matches, averaging 5.08 points/set.
 

Co-Defensive Players of the Week

Michaella DeCapua, SUNY Canton
Junior | Krum, Texas
Michaella DeCapua turned up 13 digs (4.33/set) and completed the double-double on the offensive end with 13 assists to lead the Roos to a three-set win over Cazenovia. She also had three kills and two aces to help her stat line, as Canton picked up its third NAC West win of the season.

Alexis Engel, UMaine-Presque Isle
Sophomore | Cheyenne, Wyoming
Alexis Engel sprawled for 42 digs (3.50/set) over four matches on the weekend, helping UMaine-Presque Isle chart three wins. She had a high of 13 digs in the first match of Saturday’s doubleheader against Northern Vermont-Johnson, and repeated the feat in Sunday’s opener versus Northern Vermont-Lyndon. Engel completed her stat line with 18 aces, including 10 aces in Sunday’s second match against NVU-Lyndon, and recorded 17 kills over the four matches (1.42/set).
 

Rookie of the Week

Ila Smith, Maine Maritime
First Year | Lexington, Kentucky
Middle hitter Ila Smith helped Maine Maritime chart wins over the University of New England and Husson with 13 kills (2.17/set) on a .522 hitting percentage with only one error on 23 swings. She also tallied three block assists, and totaled 14.5 points (2.42/set) in the two matches.
