WATERVILLE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy and SUNY Poly have locked up the no. 1 seeds in the North Atlantic Conference’s East and West Divisions and will host the first two rounds of the 2023 NAC Women’s Basketball Tournament on February 17-18, 2023.

The top four teams in each division qualified for the NAC Championship tournament. Quarterfinals and Semifinals will occur divisionally, at the site of each division’s no. 1 seed. Pairings for the quarterfinal round are no. 1 versus no. 4, and no. 2 versus no. 3 in each division. The no. 1 seed may choose to play the first or second first-round game.

Maine Maritime will host the East Division quarters and semis in Castine, Maine, after going 9-1 in divisional play and coming out ahead of East no. 2 seed Husson University in a tiebreaker. The Mariners will host East no. 4 seed Northern Vermont University-Lyndon in Friday’s first divisional quarterfinal matchup. In the second divisional quarterfinal, Husson will battle East no. 3 seed UMaine-Presque Isle.

In the West Division, SUNY Poly ran the table on its divisional rivals on its way to a 10-0 record, and will host West no. 4 seed Northern Vermont-Johnson in Friday’s first divisional quarterfinal matchup in Utica, New York. West no. 2 seed SUNY Cobleskill will square off against West no. 3 seed SUNY Canton in the second divisional quarterfinal on Friday at SUNY Poly.

Quarterfinal winners in each division will meet in the divisional semifinals on Saturday, Feb. 18, at 2:00 p.m.

The divisional winners will meet for the championship game on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at the site of the highest remaining seed in the tournament. The NAC champion will move on to play in the 2023 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship.
