Broncos 7-0 victory over Lesley propel them to NAC semifinals

DELHI, New York – No. 3 seed SUNY Delhi out shot No. 6 Lesley University 31-9 en route to a 7-0 shutout victory in a 2025 North Atlantic Conference Men’s Soccer first-round matchup.

The Broncos’ Sean Szczcotka scored the lone goal of the first half off a double assist from Robert Mercilliott and Matt Serrao to put Delhi up 1-0 heading into the second half.

The Delhi offense exploded in the second half as six different players tallied goals. Aidan Gaughan and Umaru Conteh notched a goal and two assists each on the night, while Szczcotka, Lawrence Robinson, Christian Navarro, Liam Molloy, and Ahmadou Diallo logged one goal each; Diallo also tallied an assist. Jared Fernandez and Serrao recorded an assist each while Mercilliot had the most assists for the Broncos with three.

Adrian Esparragozza, Wassim Chaib, and Nick Wadleigh all had shots on goals for Lesley but could not get on the board as Delhi goalkeeper Salvator Meloni had four saves in goal to secure the shutout win. The Lesley combo of Aiden Hendricks and Josh Angulo-Gonzalez had a combined seven saves for the Lynx.

The Broncos will travel to Bangor, Maine to face-off against No. 2 seed Husson University on Saturday, November 1, 2025. The time of the semifinal game will be announced shortly.
