McIntyre had a breakout weekend for the Hornets at the annual Vermont State University Tip-Off Classic.  On Saturday he erupted for a career high 40 points and added four steals while shooting 56% from the floor as a Lyndon rally came up short in a season opening loss to Keystone. He backed that effort up with an outstanding all-around performance on Sunday, as the Hornets defeated tournament host VTSU Johnson in the consolation game.  He recorded a 32-point, 10 rebound double-double and tacked on four assists and two steals.  For the weekend he averaged 36 points per game, shooting 52.1% from the floor and 71.4% from the free throw line.

Akhe McMichael | UMaine-Presque Isle | Senior | Guard | St. Petersburg, Fla.
 
Akhe McMichael picked up right where he left off from his first-team all-conference season last year as he led UMPI in scoring both nights of their opening weekend, averaging 26. In a comeback win over UMA, McMichael had 23 points, including a 4 for 7 clip from three-point range in 25 minutes of play. He went 9-11 from the free throw line, while adding three assists and two steals. On Saturday, in a game where the Owls comeback bid came up just short, McMichael shined even more, scoring 29 points in just 27 minutes on the floor. He went 2-3 from three-point range and 10-20 from the field overall. He also had six rebounds, four assists and six steals as he crammed the stat sheet full. McMichael shot well from the charity stripe again, going 7-for-9. 
 
Defensive Player of the Week

Maine Maritime Academy men's basketball rookie Aaron Pensel finished the week with 11 points, nine rebounds, four blocks, two steals, and an assist in the Mariners home loss to UNE. He shot 44% (4-for-9) from field goal range and 50% (2-for-4) from beyond the arc.
 
Rookie of the Week
 
Moses Semuhoza | Lesley University | First-Year | Forward/Center| Westbrook, Maine
 
Semuhoza enjoyed an efficient collegiate debut for Lesley University, leading the Lynx in points in just 18 minutes of action. The big fella finished the afternoon with 15 points on a 5-for-8 shooting performance from the field including 2-for-3 from behind the arc vs. Elms College. The Maine native added one rebound and one steal in the season-opener for LU.
