NAC Basketball Weekly Accolades Released (2/10/25)

WATERVILLE, Maine - The 12th North Atlantic Conference (NAC) basketball weekly accolades have been announced, as seven student-athletes from four different institutions have garnered recognition for their play during the reporting period ending February 9th.

 


Women’s Basketball


Co-Player of the Week:
Erianna Moore – Senior – Guard – Maine Maritime Academy

Maine Maritime senior guard Erianna Moore (Fitchburg, Mass.) led the Mariners to a 2-0 week with a pair of standout performances. She shot an impressive 51.7% (15-29) from the field, including a scorching 57.9% (11-19) effort from three-point range. In a win over UMF, Moore led all scorers with 20 points, knocking down four three-pointers while also dishing out six assists, grabbing three rebounds, and recording two steals. She followed that with a dominant showing against rival Husson on Saturday, when she poured in 21 points on an exceptional 7-for-9 shooting from beyond the arc and delivered a season-high eight assists with just one turnover, helping Maine Maritime Academy clinch the No. 1 NAC East seed.

Co-Player of the Week:
Logan Thayne – Senior – Center – SUNY Cobleskill

Logan Thayne (Hoosick Falls, N.Y.) led Cobleskill to an 83-46 road win at Lesley University with a dominant double-double, tallying 22 points, 12 rebounds, two blocks, and an assist. She shot an efficient 50.0% (8-16) from the field and was a perfect 3-for-3 from the free-throw line. Thayne controlled the glass with a game-high five offensive rebounds and seven defensive rebounds while making an impact defensively with two blocks.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Bella Terry – Junior – Forward – Lesley University

Last week, Lesley University junior forward Bella Terry ( totaled 47 points (15.6 PPG) while recording her 12th and 13th double-doubles of the season against Salem State and SUNY Delhi. Her best performance came in a dominant 61-32 win over SUNY Delhi on Friday, when she posted 21 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks. She grabbed 25 rebounds (8.3 RPG) across both games and has now recorded 10 or more rebounds in 13 different contests this season.

Rookie of the Week:
Addison Forry – Freshman – Guard – Maine Maritime Academy

Maine Maritime Academy freshman guard Addison Forry (Laramie, Wyo.) averaged 10.0 points and 2.5 rebounds – while logging 15.0 minutes per game - while shooting 61.5% (8-13) from the field and 50.0% (3-6) from downtown in a pair of conference victories last week.


 


Men’s Basketball:


Player of the Week:
Jeremy Moronta – Graduate Student – Guard – Husson University

Husson University graduate student Jeremy Moronta (Brooklyn, N.Y.) finished the week averaging 24.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.0 steals in conference victories over Thomas and Maine Maritime last week. He tallied 19 points, five rebounds, and six assists in a 92-76 triumph over the Terriers on Wednesday and capped the week with a season-high 29 points, nine boards, and three assists at Maine Maritime on Saturday. Moronta’s standout week helped the Eagles lock up the top seed in the East Division.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Malachi Howard – Senior – Forward – Lesley University

Lesley University senior forward Malachi Howard (Winter Haven, Fla.) led the Lynx to a 1-1 week, highlighted by a 22-point performance in a 78-61 win over NAC West leader SUNY Delhi. He totaled 39 points (19.5 PPG), grabbed 18 rebounds (9.0 RPG), and tied his season high with two blocks in both games. Howard also reached a career milestone, scoring his 1,000th point against SUNY Cobleskill.

Rookie of the Week:
Marquay Tanksley – Freshman – Guard – SUNY Cobleskill

Marquay Tanksley (Cohoes, NY) delivered a breakout performance in Cobleskill’s road win at Lesley University, scoring a career-high 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting. The first-year guard was efficient from beyond the arc (2-of-4) and nearly perfect at the free-throw line (6-of-7). He also contributed on both ends of the floor with five rebounds, a block, and a steal, showcasing his all-around impact.
