Men’s Lacrosse
Player of the Week:
Sam Nichol – Senior – Midfielder – Maine Maritime Academy
Maine Maritime senior midfielder Sam Nichol (Concord, N.H.) led the Mariners to a pair of victories with seven goals in victories over Saint Joseph’s College and Lasell University. The senior netted five goals in the Mariners’ first win (15-12) over the Monks since 2010 and scored twice in his program’s first-ever triumph (12-3) over Lasell on Saturday.
Defensive Player of the Week:
Andrew Noyes – Sophomore – Goalie – Maine Maritime Academy
Maine Maritime sophomore goalie Andrew Noyes (Falmouth, Maine) posted a 7.50 goals against average with a .659 save percentage in victories over Saint Joseph’s College and Lasell University last week. He made eight stops in a 15-12 triumph over St. Joe’s on Wednesday and turned away 21 shots in his team’s first-ever win - a 12-3 decision – over Lasell on Saturday.
Rookie of the Week:
Tobey Lappin – Freshman – Midfielder – Maine Maritime Academy
Maine Maritime freshman midfielder Tobey Lappin (South Portland, Maine) recorded a pair of hat tricks in wins over Saint Joseph’s College and Lasell University last week. The rookie standout tallied three goals, an assist, three ground balls, and three caused turnovers in a 15-12 win over the Monks and added three goals in the Mariners’ first-ever win over Lasell (12-3) on Saturday.
Women’s Lacrosse
Player of the Week:
Kirra Magaña – Senior – Midfielder – Maine Maritime Academy
Maine Maritime senior midfielder Kirra Magaña (Miami, Fla.) registered four goals, six assists, six ground balls, three caused turnovers, and 14 draw controls in wins over Gordon College and Suffolk University last week. She scored three goals and added two assists, five ground balls, two caused turnovers, and eight draw controls in an 11-7 triumph over Suffolk on Sunday.
Defensive Player of the Week:
Ella Bowes – Junior – Goalie – Maine Maritime Academy
Maine Maritime junior goalie Ella Bowes (Valley Lee, Md.) led the Mariners to a 2-0 week with a 5.19 goals against average and a .643 save percentage in 115:41 minutes of action. She made eight saves with three ground balls in a 16-3 victory over Gordon College on Tuesday and tallied 10 saves and a pair of ground balls in an 11-7 win over Suffolk University on Sunday.
Rookie of the Week:
Caitlyn Lamb – Freshman – Midfielder – Maine Maritime Academy
Maine Maritime freshman midfielder Caitlyn Lamb (Cushing, Maine) picked up a personal-best five ground balls and added a caused turnover in an 11-7 victory over Suffolk University on Sunday.
Baseball
Co-Player of the Week:
James Brandon – Graduate – First Baseman – Lesley University
Lesley University graduate first baseman James Brandon (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) kicked off the 2025 campaign by going 4-for-6 with four runs, a home run, and three RBI in a doubleheader split with Wilmington (Ohio) on Sunday. He capped the twinbill with a 1.167 SLG% and a .778 OBP after going 3-for-4 with two runs, a homer, and three RBI in the opener and adding a single in two at-bats with three walks in the Lynx’s 6-5 nightcap triumph.
Co-Player of the Week:
Cam Rendell – Junior – Utility – Husson University
Husson University junior Cam Rendell (Halifax, Nova Scotia) opened the season by hitting .455 (5-11) with four runs, two home runs, and three RBI in three hard-fought losses to a strong Oglethorpe University team on Friday and Saturday. He finished the three-game set with a 1.000 SLG% and a .538 OBP.
Pitcher of the Week:
Andrew Pruell – Senior – Thomas College
Thomas College senior Andrew Pruell (Warren, Maine) opened the season by posting a 3.38 ERA with four hits allowed and nine strikeouts in eight innings over two appearances. He tossed six two-hit innings in an 11-0 win over SUNY Poly on Sunday and struck out seven to give him 117 career K’s, a new Thomas College career record.
Rookie of the Week:
Justin Conn – Freshman – Pitcher – Thomas College
Thomas College first-year hurler Justin Conn (Atlanta, Ga.) opened his college career by tossing four shutout innings in relief in appearances versus Bowdoin College and SUNY Poly. He made his NCAA debut against Bowdoin on March 1st and fanned a pair of batters in an inning of work in a 6-1 loss and picked up his first career victory after striking out four across three innings of relief against SUNY Poly on Sunday. Through March 9th, Conn has held opponents to a .214 (3-14) batting average.
Softball:
Player/Rookie of the Week:
Maddy Morris – Freshman – Shortstop – Thomas College
Thomas College freshman shortstop Maddy Morris (Skowhegan, Maine) had a strong start to her collegiate career, serving as the leadoff hitter and starting shortstop in all four of the Terriers’ games. She has recorded at least one hit in each game, including three hits and three RBIs in an 8-0 win over Beloit on Sunday. Through four games, Morris leads the team in hits (7), runs (3), RBI (5), and batting average (.438).
Pitcher of the Week:
Addy Boyce – Sophomore – Thomas College
Thomas College sophomore pitcher Addy Boyce (Bar Harbor, Maine) has been outstanding to start the season, posting a 2-0 record. She played a key role in a comeback win against Gordon, entering in the fifth inning with the team down 4-0 and holding the opposition scoreless as Thomas rallied for a 5-4 victory in the eighth. Against Beloit, Boyce delivered another strong performance, pitching six innings while allowing just three hits and striking out five. She has yet to allow a run in nine innings pitched this season.
