NAC Men's Basketball Trio Earns All-Region Honors
WATERVILLE, Maine – The 2024-25 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District and D3hoops.com All-Region accolades have been announced and three North Atlantic Conference standouts have earned honors.
Husson University senior guard Riles Neff (Camarillo, Calif.) has claimed NABC First Team All-District and D3hoops.com Second Team All-Region honors. The 2025 NAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Year averaged 17.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game while shooting 49.8% (163-327) from the field, 43.1% (59-137) from three-point range, and 80.2% (81-101) from the free-throw line. In just two seasons – 56 total games – with the Eagles, Neff tallied 956 points (17.1 PPG), 300 rebounds (5.4 RPG), and 228 assists (4.1 APG).
Maine Maritime Academy senior center Curt Heinz (Stuttgart, Germany) has collected D3hoops.com Second Team All-Region accolades after averaging 20.2 points, 13.8 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game during his final collegiate campaign. The 2025 NAC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Year shot a career-best 56.0% (186-332) from the field while connecting on 77.0% (97-126) of his attempts from the free-throw line last winter. He leaves Maine Maritime with the program’s career records for rebounds (1,317), blocks (188), and assists (380) while finishing second all-time in career points (1,586). Nationally, he ranks first in NCAA Division III in career double-doubles (69) - third across all divisions - while leading the country with a 14.0 career rebounding average.
VTSU-Lyndon senior guard Gregory Gonyea, Jr. (Dolgeville, N.Y.) has garnered D3hoops.com Third Team All-Region honors after shooting 51.2% (148-289) overall, including a 34.5% (30-87) rate from downtown, and 73.0% (89-122) from the FT line while averaging 20.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game during the 2024-25 campaign. For his career, the standout guard registered 1,101 points, 242 rebounds, and 154 assists in only 65 games across three seasons.
