2025 NAC Softball Players to Watch

WATERVILLE, Maine - The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) is pleased to present the 2025 Softball Players to Watch list, which includes 18 student-athletes who were selected by their head coaches to represent their respective teams.

2025 NAC SOFTBALL PLAYERS TO WATCH:

Jaydaci Chamberlain – SUNY Cobleskill – Junior – Pitcher – Northborough, Mass.
Chamberlain had a strong season on the mound in 2024, earning First Team All-NAC honors. She went 10-4 over 19 appearances, including 14 starts, and threw 11 complete games with one shutout. In 104.1 innings pitched, she recorded 36 strikeouts and finished with a 3.28 ERA.

Kayla Duhaime – Thomas College – Senior – Catcher/Outfield – Ellsworth, Maine
The senior captain, who logs time behind the dish and in the outfield, earned All-Conference honors last spring after hitting .279 (17-61) with 12 runs, three doubles, two home runs, 11 RBI, and five stolen bases.

Tori Exel – Husson University – Senior – Infield – North Berwick, Maine
Exel, a 2024 First Team All-Conference selection, is a .321 (98-305) career hitter with 47 runs, 30 doubles, six triples, six home runs, and 62 RBI in 106 games. She is off to a great start this spring, hitting .383 (18-47) with seven runs, five doubles, a homer, and seven RBI through 16 tilts.

Alethea Ferrara – SUNY Delhi – Freshman – Pitcher – Delhi, N.Y.
Ferrara, a lefthanded hurler, has enjoyed a solid start to her collegiate career with a 2-2 record, a save, and a 5.39 ERA in 24.2 innings across seven appearances. She earned her first career victory in her first start, a 7-6 decision over VTSU-Lyndon on February 25th, when she allowed one earned run on two hits with a pair of punchouts in six innings.

Lindsey Gannon – VTSU-Lyndon – Junior – Catcher – Beverly, Mass.
Gannon is enjoying her best season so far, hitting .340 (18-53) with 10 runs, a double, five RBI and three stolen bases in 15 games this spring.

Emma Hodgkins – Lesley University – Senior – Pitcher – Raymond, N.H.
Hodgkins was a workhorse in the circle for the Owls last season, making 20 appearances and starting 15 games. She logged 83.1 innings and posted a 5.96 ERA, while finishing second on the team with 41 strikeouts. Her season was highlighted by a six-strikeout performance at Salem State on May 2. Hodgkins tossed eight complete games, including two shutout victories, and picked up four wins overall. She was also named NAC Pitcher of the Week in April for her standout efforts.

Gabi LaFreniere – VTSU-Johnson – Sophomore – Catcher – Starksboro, Vt.
LaFreniere is enjoying a breakout sophomore season, as the second-year standout is hitting .375 (9-24) with four runs, a double, two triples, a home run, and eight RBI through seven games this spring.

Ana Lang – Husson University – Sophomore – Pitcher – Searsport, Maine
Lang turned in a dominant freshman campaign, going 18-3 with a 1.25 ERA and 175 strikeouts over 118 innings, and was rewarded with a sweep of accolades: NAC Pitcher of the Year, NAC Rookie of the Year, NAC All-Conference First Team, NAC All-Tournament Team, NCAA Bangor Regional All-Tournament Team, State Pitcher of the Year, and All-State First Team honors.

Bella Moscoso – Lesley University – Sophomore – Infield – El Cajon, Calif.
Moscoso proved to be a consistent offensive presence for Lesley last season, tying for the team lead with 33 hits and driving in nine runs while posting a strong .403 on-base percentage. She recorded 10 multi-hit games, highlighted by a season-best 3-for-5 performance with two RBIs and a run scored in a 7–4 NAC win over UMPI on April 21. Moscoso finished the season on a tear, hitting safely in each of the final six games and batting .450 over that stretch.

Megan Oberholzer – Thomas College - Junior – Pitcher/Infield – Hancock, Md.
A force at the plate and in the circle for the Terriers, Oberholzer has enjoyed a solid career, hitting .355 (82-231) with 27 runs, 17 doubles, one home run, and 52 RBI while posting a 14-14 record with a 3.26 ERA and 97 strikeouts in 167.1 innings as one of the team’s top hurlers. Oberholzer earned First Team All-Conference honors in 2023 and was a Second Team honoree last spring.

Maddie Pike – UMaine-Farmington – Junior – Third Base – Kennebunk, Maine
Pike delivered a standout season at the plate last year, slashing .434/.477/.677 with 43 hits, including 14 doubles, two triples, and two home runs. She drove in 27 runs and scored 32 times as the Beavers’ prime offensive catalyst. Her impressive performance earned her a spot on the All-Conference First Team.

Danielle Seymour – SUNY Delhi – Senior – Pitcher/Outfield – Deposit, N.Y.
Seymour posted a dominant eight-game stint in Myrtle Beach, with a .640 batting average totaling 16 hits and seven RBI while registering an impressive 2.38 ERA with 10 strikeouts in 17.2 innings in the circle. She currently sports a 2.20 ERA with a 2-3 record and 17 K’s in 28.2 innings and is hitting .487 (19-39) with 11 runs, three doubles, and nine RBI in 11 contests.

Zoe Stewart – UMaine-Presque Isle – Junior – Third Base/Pitcher – Pleasant Grove, P.E.I.
Stewart returns as a vital two-way contributor for the Owls this season. In 2024, she earned Second Team All-NAC honors after posting a .309 batting average and an impressive .861 OPS. She tallied 17 hits on the year, including six doubles and a triple, while driving in seven runs. In the circle, Stewart made four appearances—one of them a start—totaling six innings pitched and recording seven strikeouts. Look for her role to expand even further this season, both at the plate and on the mound.

Gracelyn Walsh – UMaine-Presque Isle – Junior – First Base/Pitcher – Grand Bay, N.B.
Walsh has emerged as a great two-way player for the Owls through her first two seasons. In 2024, she earned Second Team All-Conference honors after leading the team in average, hitting .355 on the year, with 22 hits and 21 RBI. She added nine extra base hits, including three home runs (T-4th in the NAC). In the circle, she made 13 appearances and 10 starts, throwing a team-high 55.1 innings and striking out a team-high 25 batters.

Ann Watkins – VTSU-Lyndon – Junior – Outfield – Los Angeles, Calif.
A three-year starting outfielder, Watkins is a career .259 (41-158) hitter with 34 runs, four doubles, a home run, 12 RBI, and 12 stolen bases in 60 games over three seasons. This spring she is batting .294 (15-51) with 13 runs, a pair of two-baggers, a home run, and eight RBI in 15 contests.

Mackenzie Wendelken – SUNY Cobleskill – Senior – Catcher – Stuyvesant, N.Y.
Wendelken earned Second Team All-NAC honors in 2023 after a solid season at the plate. She hit .291 with 32 hits, including eight doubles and a home run, while driving in 23 runs.

Abby Wrinn - UMaine Farmington – Sophomore – Shortstop – Wolcott, Conn.
Wrinn was a key contributor for the Beavers last season, hitting .361 with a .402 on-base percentage and a .500 slugging percentage. She collected 39 hits, including nine doubles and three triples, while driving in 22 runs and scoring 32 times. Wrinn also added seven stolen bases to her stat line and was recognized for her strong play with a Second Team All-Conference selection.

Kristie Zator – VTSU-Johnson – Junior – Outfield – Windham, Conn.
A junior transfer from MCLA, Zator is hitting .292 (7-24) with six runs, a double, two triples, and three stolen bases in seven games for the Badgers this season. In two years with the Trailblazers, Zator hit .296 (56-189) with 33 runs, 12 doubles, two triples, three home runs, 29 RBI, and seven stolen bases in 66 contests.
