2025 NAC Baseball Players to Watch
WATERVILLE, Maine - The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) is pleased to present the 2025 Baseball Players to Watch list, which includes 14 student-athletes who were selected by their head coaches to represent their respective teams.
2025 NAC BASEBALL PLAYERS TO WATCH:
James Brandon – Lesley University – Senior – First Base - Manhattan Beach, Calif.
A 2024 D3baseball.com All-Region Second Team and ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Third Team honoree, Brandon returns as a key offensive leader for the Lynx. The reigning NAC Player of the Year hit .385 (50-130) 30 runs, 14 doubles, eight home runs, and 37 RBI as a junior and, for his career, sports a .372 (151-406) average with 90 runs, 29 doubles, 13 homers, 104 RBI, and 12 steals in 130 games.
Garrett Chadwick – UMaine-Presque Isle – Junior – Shortstop/Pitcher - Brighton, Colo.
Chadwick is a .279 (70-251) career hitter with 38 runs, nine doubles, two triples, 24 RBI, and 11 stolen bases in 73 games. This spring, he is hitting .407 (11-27) with seven runs, six RBI, and five steals while posting a 2.93 ERA with a 1-0 record and 16 strikeouts -against only three walks – in 15.1 innings on the mound.
Nate Coombs – UMaine-Farmington - Senior – Second Base – Thomaston, Maine
Coombs appeared in 39 games for the Beavers in 2024, hitting .276 (34-123) with 20 runs, 10 doubles, one triple, one home run, 18 RBI, and 10 stolen bases. Over his career, Coombs has played in 108 games with 102 starts, batting .265 with 53 runs, 87 hits, 21 doubles, six triples, a home run, 51 RBI, and 21 steals.
Jackson Curtis – Husson University – Graduate – First Base – Ellsworth, Maine
After hitting .369 (48-130) with nine doubles, 10 homers, and 36 RBI in 2024, Curtis earned First Team All-Conference and All-State, ABCA/Rawlings First Team All-Region, and D3baseball.com Third Team All-Region honors and was also named as the 2024 NAC Tournament MVP after leading the Eagles to a conference title. The 6’4” first baseman is a .341 (182-534) career hitter with 112 runs, 44 doubles, 27 home runs, and 155 RBI in 152 games.
Justin Dennett – Lesley University – Senior – Infield – Fairfield, Conn.
Dennett, the 2024 Lesley Baseball Team MVP, appeared in 35 games during his junior season, batting .306 with a career-best .458 on-base percentage and a .414 slugging percentage. He tallied 34 hits, stole a career-high 17 bases, and posted his second consecutive season slugging over .400. The 2024 Second Team All-Conference selection is a career .299 (119-398) hitter with 94 runs, 19 doubles, six triples, a home run, 70 RBI, and 32 stolen bases in 125 games.
David Flora – SUNY Cobleskill – Senior – Infield – Windsor, N.Y.
A two-time First Team All-Conference honoree and 2023 NAC Player of the Year, Flora sports a career .367 (151-412) batting average with 107 runs, 33 doubles, 13 home runs, 82 RBI, and 45 stolen bases in 121 games. He is currently hitting .444 (20-45) with 11 runs, three doubles, six RBI, and 10 steals through 14 contests this spring.
Matt Gonyeau – VTSU-Lyndon – Junior – Catcher/Utility – Saint Albans, Vt.
Gonyeau owns a career .234 (36-154) batting average with seven doubles, three triples, and 23 RBI in 57 games. He has scored six runs with three doubles, a triple, and six RBI in 15 games this spring.
Spencer Harman – UMaine-Presque Isle – Senior – Pitcher - Sidney, B.C.
Harman posted a 2-4 record in 2024, making five starts and appearing in eight games overall. He finished second on the team with a 7.71 ERA and led the staff with 39.2 innings pitched. The right-hander tossed three complete games, earning two wins, including a standout nine-inning complete game victory against UMF on April 16, where he allowed just three earned runs on six hits.
Jack Holley – VTSU-Lyndon – Sophomore – Pitcher – San Gabriel, Calif.
In two seasons on the mound, Holley has a 3-5 record with a 4.35 ERA and 42 strikeouts across 13 appearances and 51.2 innings. He owns a 1-2 record with a 4.91 ERA and 22 K’s in 25.2 frames this spring.
Tony Meza – Thomas College – Graduate – Los Angeles, Calif.
Meza returns for his graduate season after earning the 2024 NCAA Division III “Toughest to Strike Out” statistical crown. The two-time All-Conference selection hit .333 (36-for-108) last spring with 26 runs scored, eight doubles, 31 RBIs, and five stolen bases. A career .354 hitter (147-for-415), Meza struck out just twice in 108 at-bats as a senior and has fanned only 19 times in 415 career at-bats across 120 games.
Andrew Pruell – Thomas College – Senior – Pitcher – Warren, Maine
Pruell, the Terriers’ all-time leader in appearances (52), owns a 4.72 career ERA with a 12-7 record, four saves, and 120 strikeouts in 118.1 innings. As a junior the 6’2” righthander was 6-1 with a 3.47 ERA and 50 K’s in 46.2 innings.
Ryan Sargent - UMaine-Farmington – Senior - First Base - Windham, Maine
Sargent started all 39 games for the Beavers in 2024, batting .277 with 36 hits, including eight doubles and a home run, while driving in 17 runs. He posted a .400 slugging percentage and a .367 on-base percentage, drawing 16 walks and scoring 20 runs. Over his four-year career, Sargent has appeared in 134 games with 130 starts, compiling a .339 career batting average with a UMF program-record 150 hits, including 36 doubles, and 16 home runs. He has totaled 85 RBIs, 63 runs scored, and holds a career .533 slugging percentage and .408 on-base percentage.
Dylan Schwam – SUNY Cobleskill – Junior – Pitcher – Cooper City, Fla.
A position player his first two seasons, Schwam is focusing on pitching this spring and has posted a 5.40 ERA with a 1-1 record and nine strikeouts in 15 innings over nine appearances on the hill. The junior righthander was selected as the March 17th NAC Pitcher of the Week after allowing one run on three hits with no walks and six strikeouts over six innings in a victory over UMaine-Farmington on March 15th.
Matt Wallingford – Husson University – Senior – Pitcher – Greene, Maine
Wallingford, the 2024 NAC and State of Maine Pitcher of the Year who also earned D3baseball.com All-Region First Team ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Third Team following a stellar junior campaign, owns a 10-5 career record with a 2.94 ERA and 146 strikeouts in 134.2 innings over 40 appearances (20 starts). This season, he is 1-1 with a 2.95 ERA and 23 K’s – and only 11 walks – in 21.1 frames.
