Broncos Top Terriers, Advance to NAC Championship

CASTINE, Maine – #2 SUNY Delhi (11-4) defeated #3 Thomas College (4-11), 19-6, in a 2025 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Men’s Lacrosse Tournament semifinal on Saturday afternoon at Ritchie Field on the campus of Maine Maritime Academy.

With the win, SUNY Delhi advances to the NAC Championship game and will face top-seeded Maine Maritime on Sunday at 3:00 PM. The winner will earn the conference’s automatic qualifier to the 2025 NCAA Division III Men’s Lacrosse Tournament.

The loss concludes the 2025 season for Thomas College.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Senior Benjamin Moscatiello (Miller Place, N.Y.) scored three goals in the opening quarter to help the Broncos jump out to a 6-1 lead after 15 minutes. SUNY Delhi opened the second quarter with six unanswered goals to extend the margin to 12-1 with 4:02 remaining in the half. The Terriers responded with goals from freshman Wyatt Lyons (Manchester, Maine) and junior Connor Hamilton (Pelham, N.H.) to trim the deficit to 12-3 at halftime.

Delhi junior attack Joseph Lazazzaro (East Rockaway, N.Y.) scored off a Kyle Moore (Miller Place, N.Y.) assist early in the third quarter, and Wyatt Lyons answered for Thomas to make it 13-4 midway through the period. The Broncos then rattled off six straight goals spanning the remainder of the third and into the fourth quarter to build a commanding 19-4 advantage with 11:16 left.

Thomas added late goals from sophomore Dustyn Hinkley (Jay, Maine) and freshman Owen Lyons (Manchester, Maine) to account for the final margin.

TEAM STATS:
SUNY Delhi led in shots (57-29), shots on goal (39-18), ground balls (64-25), and face-off wins (26-3).

GOALIES:
Delhi freshman Jayden Messina (Middle Island, N.Y.) made 10 saves and allowed four goals in 45 minutes of action. Sophomore Matt Mulrooney (Congers, N.Y.) played the final quarter, allowing two goals with two saves.

Thomas goalie Daniel Guarino (Wakefield, Mass.) finished with 20 saves on 39 shots.
