2025 NAC Baseball Tournament: Day 1 Recap
GAME ONE: #1 HUSSON UNIVERSITY 8, #4 SUNY COBLESKILL, 2
BANGOR, Maine – Top-seeded Husson University opened the 2025 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Baseball Championship with a convincing 8-2 win over #4 SUNY Cobleskill on Thursday afternoon at the Dr. John W. Winkin Sports Complex.
With the victory, Husson advances in the winner’s bracket to face #3 Thomas College tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. SUNY Cobleskill, which fell to #2 Lesley University in an elimination game later that evening, sees its 2025 season come to a close. Lesley will face the Husson/Thomas loser in a 2:00 p.m. elimination game.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After giving up a run in the top of the first, Husson answered with one in the second and two in the third to take control. The Eagles added two more in the sixth and three in the seventh, capitalizing on nine walks, three hit batters, and timely extra-base hits. SUNY Cobleskill managed just three hits and a solo homer in the ninth.
Husson’s pitching staff racked up 12 strikeouts, including scoreless middle relief, and limited Cobleskill to four runners left on base. Offensively, the Eagles totaled 10 hits—including two doubles, a triple, and a home run—while outscoring the Tigers 7-1 from the second through seventh innings.

BANGOR, Maine – #3 seed Thomas College used a balanced offensive effort and clutch relief pitching to defeat #2 seed Lesley University, 11-5, in 2025 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Baseball Tournament first-round action on Thursday afternoon at the Dr. John W. Winkin Sports Complex.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After two scoreless innings, Thomas broke through with four runs in the third and added three more in the fifth to take a 7-0 lead. Lesley responded with four runs in the bottom of the fifth and added another in the seventh to make it 7-5, but the Terriers answered with three runs in the top of the seventh and an insurance tally in the ninth to seal the 11-5 win.
Thomas capitalized on 11 walks and two hit batters, collected 13 hits—including two doubles—and scored in five different innings, including six two-out RBIs. The Terriers stranded 11 runners but played error-free defense and limited Lesley to one stolen base. Lesley also committed no errors but left 10 runners on base and struggled to contain Thomas in high-leverage situations.

BANGOR, Maine – #2 Lesley University used a six-run seventh inning to pull away from #4 SUNY Cobleskill, earning a 12-3 win in a 2025 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Baseball Tournament elimination game Thursday night at the Dr. John W. Winkin Sports Complex.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Lesley jumped out to a 3-0 lead through two innings and held a 5-2 edge entering the seventh, where the Lynx broke the game open with six runs on six hits. They added an insurance run in the eighth and finished the night with 13 hits, five walks, and five stolen bases.
Lesley capitalized on five Cobleskill errors, five walks, and five hit batters while going 4-for-12 with runners in scoring position and scoring four two-out RBIs. Despite committing five errors of their own, the Lynx pitching staff limited the Tigers to seven hits and just one earned run, holding off Cobleskill’s single-run efforts in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings.
