Waterville, ME – Thomas College is proud to announce that
Andrea Thebarge has been named the Interim Vice President of Athletics. Thebarge will also remain in her current role as Head Field Hockey Coach.
Thebarge, now going into her 18
th year at Thomas, currently serves in a variety of different roles, including Head Field Hockey Coach, Associate Director of Athletics for NCAA Compliance, and is the Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) at Thomas. Thebarge has also served as an Adjunct Professor of Mathematics at Thomas.
"Having been part of the Thomas College community for almost two decades, it's an incredible honor to step into the role of Interim Vice President of Athletics," said Thebarge. "This place, and the people in it, mean so much to me. I've had the privilege of coaching, mentoring, and growing alongside our student-athletes and staff, and I'm proud to continue serving a department that has played such a central role in my life. I'm committed to ensuring that Thomas Athletics remains a source of pride, purpose, and opportunity for everyone involved. I also want to thank Chris Parsons for all he's done for Thomas College Athletics and wish him luck in his new adventure."
A native of Skowhegan, Maine, Thebarge graduated from Northeastern University in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a minor in secondary education. While at Northeastern she played field hockey, was a four-year starter, and participated in four NCAA Division I tournaments making it to the Final Four championship in both 1995 and 1996.
Thebarge will step into the role of Interim Vice President of Athletics starting on Friday, August 8 and remain in an interim capacity until the end of 2025.
