Player of the Week
Saige Evans | Husson University | Sophomore | Forward | Greenbush, Maine
Evans has continued her stellar sophomore season since the Eagles returned to action after Christmas, helping Husson to a 4-2 mark in its six games, including a 4-0 mark in North Atlantic Conference play, with one of Husson's losses coming at the hands of unbeaten No. 3/3 Smith College. Evans has averaged just shy of 17 points per game for Husson in those contests, posting two 20-point performances. On the glass, Evans has recorded three double-doubles, while also finishing one rebound shy of another double-double against St. John Fisher University, averaging 9.5 rebounds per game during the stretch. Additionally, Evans has also averaged 1.7 steals per contest and two assists per game during the stretch, shooting 46% from the floor and better than 78% from the foul line.
Defensive Player of the Week
Jessica Dow | UMaine-Farmington | Junior | Forward | Saco, Maine
Dow continued to make her presence felt on the defensive end of the floor and helped push the Beavers to a 3-0 week. In the three games, Dow averaged 3.0 steals and 2.3 blocks per game while also hauling in 9.3 rebounds a night. In Farmington's win over Lyndon, Dow posted a season-high four blocks while also tallying four steals and eight rebounds. The next day, Dow recorded two steals, a block, and five rebounds in just 19 minutes against Johnson. In Farmington's road victory over Maine Maritime on Saturday, Dow tallied a season-high 15 rebounds while adding three steals, two blocks, and 17 points.
Rookie of the Week
Kytana Williamson | UMaine-Farmington | First-Year | Guard | Nobleboro, Maine
Williamson had a big week and provided a massive spark off the bench for the Beavers, helping them to a 3-0 record on the week and topping Maine Maritime Academy for the first time since 2020. Against Lyndon on Monday, Williamson scored six points, dished out four assists, grabbed three rebounds and had three steals against Lyndon. She then shot a perfect 3-of-3 from the field en route to seven points while also grabbing four rebounds in a win over Johnson. Against the Mariners on Saturday, Williamson scored a career-high 13 points and grabbed a career-high seven rebounds, shooting 4-of-8 from the floor and hitting 3-of-5 from three. For the week she averaged 8.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game while shooting 58.8 percent from the floor and 57.1 percent from three.
