Morgan Tainter | Husson University | Senior | Catcher | Gilman, Conn.
Tainter has played in crucial role in the Husson softball 13-1 start to the season at the Spring Games, as the Eagles earned victories over No. 11 Moravian University and No. 16 Case Western Reserve University on the trip. Tainter appeared and started in 12 of the 14 games on the trip, leading the Eagles with a .368 batting average, posting 14 hits, including four doubles, while also adding 14 RBIs and six runs scored. Tainter struck out just once in 38 at-bats, while also drawing three walks, compiling a .889 OPS, a .474 slugging percentage and a .415 on-base percentage. Additionally, being the plate, Tainter threw out three runners on the base-paths.
Pitcher of the Week
Ana Lang | Husson University | Junior | Pitcher | Searsport, Maine
Lang has helped the Eagles to a dominant start to the 2026 season, as Husson sits 13-1 through its first 14 games after participating in the Spring Games in Florida. Lang appeared in 10 games on the trip, making seven starts in the circle, while posting a 6-1 record, in addition to three saves, as she hurled seven complete games and 53 total innings pitched. Lang posted a 0.53 ERA and a 0.91 WHIP, as she gave up four earned runs in the entirety of the trip, adding 74 strikeouts, a .157 batting average against and four shutouts, while surrendering just three extra-base hits on the trip and becoming the all-time leader for Husson softball in most career saves.
Rookie of the Week
Sammy Fausti | SUNY Cobleskill | First-Year | Outfield/Shortstop | Clayton, Wash.
Samantha Fausti had a standout week for Cobleskill, producing quality at-bats and helping to keep the Tigers offense moving throughout the week. Offensively she batted .700 (7-for-10) with a double against Alfred State, LaRoche University, Brooklyn College, and Drew University. Fausti drove in 3 RBIs, drew 6 walks, and scored 7 times. Defensively, Fausti was perfect, recording 11 putouts, six assists, including a double play while posting a 1.000 fielding percentage with no errors.
