2026 NAC Track & Field Championship Day 1 Recap

ORONO, Maine – The 2026 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championship opened Saturday afternoon at The University of Maine with the High Jump, Pole Vault and Hammer Throw events.

Thomas College earned three first-place finishes as Jontreaz Hardy and Emma Burr each cleared the top heights in the high jump—Burr repeating as the NAC champion—while Miles Gadwah claimed the pole vault title. Husson recorded two event wins, with Megan Fletcher (hammer throw) and Alexis Freeman (pole vault) both repeating as NAC champions in their respective events. Furthermore, host UMaine-Farmington, added a first-place finish as Alex Crews reached the top of the podium in the hammer throw.

The remainder of the championship resumes Sunday at 10:00 AM at the Alfond Sports Stadium on UMaine’s campus.

Men’s High Jump:
1st Place – Jontreaz Hardy (Thomas College) – 1.87 meters
2nd Place – Tariq Martin (UMaine-Presque Isle) – 1.82 meters
3rd Place – Henry Phillips (Thomas College) – 1.82 meters
Martin places second on having fewer missed attempts

Women’s High Jump:
1st Place – Emma Burr (Thomas College) – 1.53 meters
2nd Place – Kara Anderson (Thomas College) – 1.48 meters
3rd Place – Brienne Eldred (Thomas College) – 1.48 meters
Anderson places second on having fewer missed attempts

Men’s Pole Vault:
1st Place - Miles Gadwah (Thomas college) – 3.40 meters
2nd Place – James Cotes (Thomas College) – 3.25 meters
2nd Place – Owen Booker (UMaine-Farmington) – 3.25 meters
Cotes and Booker tied for second by having the same number of missed attempts

Women’s Pole Vault:
1st Place – Alexis Freeman (Husson University) – 2.70 meters
2nd Place – Emma Burr (Thomas College) – 2.70 meters
3rd Place – Brianna Andrews (Husson University) – 2.55 meters
Freeman places first on having fewer missed attempts

Men’s Hammer Throw:
1st Place – Alex Crews (UMaine-Farmington) - 44.85 meters
2nd Place – Noal Matista (UMaine-Farmington) - 40.18 meters 
3rd Place – Jaden Grazulis (Husson University) - 39.96 meters

Women’s Hammer Throw:
1st Place – Megan Fletcher (Husson University) – 42.04 meters
2nd Place – Eliza Wheeler (Thomas College) – 40.90 meters
3rd Place – Paige Chesbro (Husson University) – 36.51 meters
