NAC Announces 2026 Men's Lacrosse All-Conference Selections

WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) has announced its 2026 Men’s Lacrosse postseason honors, recognizing outstanding individual and team achievements from across the league. Awards include Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Senior Scholar Athlete, Coaching Staff of the Year, and First Team and Second All-Conference selections.

Husson University’s Kiernan Field and Owen Giorgio repeated as NAC Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, respectively, with both earning the honors for the second straight season. Maine Maritime Academy first-year Ryan Parent was selected as Rookie of the Year, while Mariner senior Trey Marcil was named this year’s Senior Scholar Athlete. Rounding out the major awards, Husson University earned Coaching Staff of the Year honors.

Each season, the NAC names a Sportsmanship Team, with one honoree per institution nominated by their head coach. This recognition is awarded to individuals who demonstrate exceptional sportsmanship and positively impact the culture of track & field with integrity beyond the sport’s requirements. The men’s lacrosse NAC Sportsmanship Team honorees are listed below.
 
Player of the Year – Kiernan Field, Husson University
­­­­­­­­­­­­Field continued to prove game-in and game-out why he is one of the best players in the NAC, coming off a NAC Player of the Year selection in 2025. Field led the Eagles and the NAC with 54 goals scored on the regular season (69 overall), while he currently ranks first on the team and tied for third in the NAC with 29 assists, as he led the Eagles and ranked second in the conference with 79 points during the regular season. Additionally, Field finished second on the Eagles with 15 caused turnovers, in addition to ranking fourth on the team with 42 ground balls. Field, who was a four-time NAC Player of the Week during the season, recorded 10 hat tricks during the season, including five games with five or more goals, three six-goal games and one eight-goal outing. Field became the fastest player in Husson history to reach 100 career goals, as he did so in just 25 games played. Field was also named 2026 NAC Men’s Lacrosse Tournament Most Valuable Player. 
Defensive Player of the Year – Owen Giorgio, Husson University
Giorgio, the defending NAC Defensive Player of the Year, continued to prove his worth on the defensive end of the field for the Eagles. During the regular season, the junior recorded a co-league-high 30 caused turnovers (38 overall), while scooping up a team-high 103 ground balls (115 overall), which ranked third in the conference, including the best amongst non-face off specialists. Giorgio, who also scored 12 goals and dished out 13 assists on the season, was a three-time NAC Defensive Player of the Week honoree, while also becoming Husson's all-time caused turnover leader to close out the regular season. Giorgio has five games with at least three caused turnovers during the year, in addition to scooping up 20 ground balls in a game earlier this year, as he was named to the USILA Division III Team of the Week two times this season and the NEILA Division III Team of the Week once. Giorgio also found himself on the 2026 NAC Men's Lacrosse All-Tournament Team.
Rookie of the Year – Ryan Parent, Maine Maritime Academy
Maine Maritime Academy men’s lacrosse freshman Ryan Parent finished the regular season with a team-high 48 goals (56 overall) finishing second in the league and third with a 3.43 goals per game average. Parent posted 25 assists (27 overall) and finished second on the team with 73 points (83 overall), adding 45 ground balls (52 overall) and six caused turnovers. Prior to the NAC tournament, Parent finished sixth in the league with 1.79 assists per game and third with 5.21 points per game earning NAC rookie of the week five times and being named to the NEILA team of the week three times. In league games, Parent was at his best, leading the conference with 5.20 goals per game and finishing second with 8.40 points per game and third with 3.20 assists. 
Senior Scholar Athlete – Trey Marcil, Maine Maritime Academy
Mariner senior Trey Marcil maintains a 3.70 GPA in marine transportation operations and passed his Coast Guard exam midway through his senior year. Additionally, Marcil earned the Mariners Athletics prestigious leader of the year award for the 2025-26 season. 
 
Off the field, Marcil was a 2026 Maine Maritime Academy Athletic Integration Award finalist and serves as the team tutor and a two-time captain. A 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection and three-time NAC academic all-conference recipient. He is a four-year member of the Regiment of Midshipmen, where he served as a 3rd and 2nd Class Stryker. He was the Alpha Company Commander on campus and during junior cruise, and an active member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. In addition, Trey completed his summer Cadet Shipping with American Roll-On Roll-Off Carrier (ARC), transiting the East Coast of Central and South America from Galveston, Texas to various ports in Brazil.
 
On the field, Marcil led the Mariners and the NAC in the regular season with 84 points and 6.00 points per game. Marcil also racked up a regular season league-best 50 assists for a 3.57 assists per game average and finished the regular season with 34 goals (35 overall), ranking ninth in the league with 2.43 goals per game. Prior to the NAC tournament, Marcil scored 34 goals on only 54 shots on goal played a scoring role in 84 of the teams 200 goals. Additionally, Marcil earned NAC Player of the Week honors three times and tallied 48 ground balls, nine caused turnovers. Marcil also earned NAC All-Conference Second Team honors in 2025, marking his second season in row making All-Conference honors. In addition to his All-Conference accolades, Marcil was named to the 2026 Men's Lacrosse All-Tournament Team.
Coaching Staff of the Year – Husson University
The Husson coaching staff, led by Head Coach Mike O’Neill, has been named the 2026 NAC Men’s Lacrosse Coaching Staff of the Year. Assistant coaches Richard Ranaldo and Jeff Culkin share the honor, as the trio guided the Eagles to a program first NAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship title.
