BANGOR, Maine – No. 3 Thomas College keeps their season alive after erasing a five-run deficit late and held off an ninth inning rally to defeat Vermont State University Lyndon in a 16-14 thriller in game three of the 2026 NAC Baseball Tournament. The Terriers end day one 1-1 and will play the loser of game four on Friday, May 8 at 2:00 pm.
The Terriers jumped out early with five runs across the first two innings behind RBI hits from DJ Cagnina and Hayden Dippner. Lyndon responded with three runs in the first as Eyon Temrbeull singled to right, scoring Cesar Cisneros who reaced on a single up the middle. Tredell Blow would then send a two-run RBI double to left field to score Tembreull. Blow traded places with Tembreull and crossed how plate on a fielder’s choice and throwing error. In the second, Jeren Harrison sent a triple to left center and later scored from Sean Dunton double to left.
Thomas added two more runs in the fourth frame extending their lead by three as Cagnina homered to right field and Ajay Rychcik later scored a n an RBI single from Gavin Clark.
Vermont State Lyndon answered with a four-run fourth inning and another four-run fifth to take a 12-7 advantage. Tredell Blow highlighted the Hornets’ surge with a three-run homer in the fifth, while Eyon Tembreull finished with four hits and four RBI.
Thomas chipped away in the seventh after a Lyndon error plated two runs, then completed the comeback in the eighth. After a wild pitch brought the Terriers within two, Evan Nadeau delivered a game-tying, inside-the-park two-run homer to even the score at 12-12.
The Terriers took control in the ninth, scoring four times on an RBI walk from Pedro Hernandez, a balk, a wild pitch, and an RBI single by Hayden Dippner. Lyndon answered with two runs in the bottom half on a two-run double by Tembreull, but Brody Walsh closed the door to secure the win.
DJ Cagnina paced Thomas offensively, going 3-for-7 with a homer and three RBI, while Nadeau scored three runs and drove in two. Ajay Rychcik and Gavin Clark each added multi-hit efforts for the Terriers. Walsh earned the win in relief, striking out seven over four innings.
