BANGOR, Maine – No. 1 Husson advanced to the championship round of the 2026 NAC Baseball Tournament with an 11-4 victory over No. 2 SUNY Cobleskill in Friday’s game three of the double-elimination tournament.
SUNY Cobleskill now faces No. 3 Thomas College in an elimination game later Friday, with the winner advancing to Championship Saturday to take on Husson at 1:00 p.m.
Husson opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning as Liam Kelley delivered a two-run double to left-center field, bringing home Colin Marshall, who reached on a walk, and Matt Holmes, who got aboard following a fielding error.
On the mound, Husson’s Chris Lusignan was sharp early, tossing three scoreless innings while allowing just one hit through the opening three frames.
SUNY Cobleskill’s offense came alive in the fourth inning as Ryan Lansing, Tony Woodie, and Logan Firment each found the gaps. Lansing led off with a double and later scored on Woodie’s single through the left side. Firment then followed with an RBI double to bring home Woodie and even the score at 2-2.
Both teams recorded hits in the fifth inning, but strong defensive play stranded runners on base and kept the score unchanged.
SUNY Cobleskill regained the lead in the top of the sixth as Ryan Lansing continued his strong day at the plate with another double. He later advanced to third and scored on a Husson error, giving the Tigers a 3-2 advantage.
Husson answered in the bottom half of the inning when Henry Lausier led off with a double. The Eagles then executed small ball effectively, as sacrifice hits from Yates Emerson and Colin Marshall allowed Lausier to come around and score, tying the game at 3-3 going into the seventh and Noah Hurd relieving Lusigan at the mound.
The Eagles then pulled away with a dominant 7-1 surge over their final two offensive innings, seizing full control of the game. Husson broke things open in the seventh inning, scoring five runs, highlighted by back-to-back home runs from Liam Kelley and Hunter Curtis that energized the home side and stretched the lead.
Husson’s pitching and defense held firm down the stretch as Hurd closed things out with a strong three innings of relief to earn the win on the mound, allowing just four hits and one earned run while striking out one to secure the Eagles’ victory.
