BANGOR, Maine – Top-seeded Husson advanced to the championship round of the 2026 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Softball Tournament after overcoming an early deficit to defeat No. 2 seed Thomas College in game seven on day two of the double-elimination tournament.
The Eagles enter Championship Saturday undefeated in tournament play and will look to capture their sixth consecutive NAC softball title.
Thomas struck first in the opening inning as Megan Oberholzer launched a two-run home run over the left-center field fence, scoring Brooklyn Federico, who reached earlier in the frame on a leadoff walk.
Husson answered in the bottom half of the inning, showing patience at the plate by drawing four walks from Camryn King, Sophia Lynch, Morgan Tainter, Lydia Rice, and Allie Casavant. King and Tainter also recorded stolen bases during the rally as the Eagles cut the deficit to 2-1.
The Terriers extended their lead to 3-1 in the third inning after Federico reached on a hit-by-pitch and later scored on a Maddy Morris RBI double to left field.
From there, Husson took control behind a dominant performance in the circle from Ana Lang. Lang allowed just one hit over the remainder of the game while striking out five batters (11 total) as the Eagles closed the contest on a 5-0 run to secure the 7-3 victory.
Sophia Lynch, Allie Casavant, and Morgan Tainter each recorded hits for Husson, with Lynch and Tainter both tallying doubles in the win.
