WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) is proud to announce the celebration of its 30th anniversary, marking three decades of providing intercollegiate athletics opportunities for student-athletes across the Northeast.

In honor of the milestone, the conference has unveiled a new 30th anniversary logo, designed by Bryce Colbeth and Chloe Baker of S&S Consulting, both of whom have ties to Husson University. Colbeth serves as an instructor in Husson’s School of Business and Management and Baker is a recent Husson graduate and was an intern with the Husson Sports Information Department throughout her time at the university. Their combined experience in collegiate athletics, communications and design helped bring the NAC’s 30th anniversary vision to life.

Founded in 1996-97 as the North Atlantic Women’s Conference, the conference was formed to provide competitive opportunities for the female student athletes of seven New England institutions, including current member Maine Maritime Academy. In the fall of 1999, men’s programs were added to the conference offerings, and the name officially became the North Atlantic Conference. The NAC gained recognition as an NCAA Division III voting conference in 2003.

The NAC has grown into a respected NCAA Division III conference, sponsoring 14 sports – six men’s and eight women’s – across eight member institutions.

The commemorative logo will be featured throughout the 2026-27 academic year as the NAC celebrates its history and looks ahead to the future.

Throughout the year, the conference will celebrate the landmark with a series of releases on its social media channels and website, highlighting moments, milestones, and people from the conference’s 30-year history.
