Simmons University junior Masha Shutts went undefeated at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles, helping the Sharks to a 2-0 start to NAC play. Against Husson, Shutts and teammate Amoli Vad earned a 6-1 victory at No. 1 doubles before Shutts posted a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles. Against Thomas, Shutts and ­­Vad cruised to a 6-0 victory at No. 1 doubles, followed by Shutts’ 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles.

Rookie of the Week

Victoria McCrann | Simmons University | First-Year | Lynnfield, Mass.

Simmons University rookie Victoria McCrann went undefeated in singles and doubles, helping the Sharks open NAC play 2-0. McCrann earned a gritty 6-2, 5-7, 10-6 victory at No. 6 singles against Husson to help Simmons open league play with a win. The following day against Thomas, McCrann secured a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 6 singles to help the Sharks finish the week 2-0. In doubles, McCrann and teammate Ivy Cote earned a 6-0 win against Husson and a 6-1 victory against Thomas.
