  • NAC Men's Basketball Well-Represented on NABC Honors Court

    The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) was well-represented on the recent announcement of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court for the 2011-12 season. In all, seven players representing four schools were honored.
  • Thomas College's Salvador Chosen as a d3hoops.com All-Star

    Thomas College sophomore guard Franklin Salvador has been named to the D3hoops.com All-Star Team and will head to Europe from May 21-31 and is scheduled to visit and play against opponents in Paris, Amsterdam, and Den Bosch, Netherlands.
  • Colby-Sawyer Trio, NEC's Mohamed Honored by New Hampshire Coaches

    Colby-Sawyer freshman Mike Dias has been named to the 2011-12 New Hampshire Division III Basketball Coaches Association Rookie of the Year. Seniors Will Bardaglio and James Tobin were named to the First and Second Team, respectively. New England College junior guard Abdirahman Mohamed also earned a spot on the second team.

    University of Maine at Farmington sophomore center Ben Johnson, freshman forward Joe McCloskey, head coach Dick Meader and Thomas College junior guard Jarrad DeVaughan and sophomore guard Franklin Salvador were among the honorees from the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writer Association year-end awards.

    CASTLETON, Vt. – Top-seeded Castleton State College canned 16 three-pointers and shot 49.3% from the field en route to a 102-76 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Men’s Basketball Final win over the second seed Colby-Sawyer Saturday evening at Glenbrook Gymnasium.
  • 2011-12 North Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball All-Conference Teams Announced

    Castleton junior Mark Comstock has been selected the 2011-12 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Men’s Basketball Player of the Year in a vote of the league’s coaches. Comstock led the high-scoring Spartan offense, averaging 16.4 points in conference play. Comstock ranked in the top-ten in rebounding (6.8 r/g), field goal percentage (51.8%) and free-throw percentage (77.9%).

    A pair of freshman earned this week's honors as Colby-Sawyer's Koang Thok shot an impressive 68% from the field and averaged 20.5 points to earn Player of the Week accolades. Green Mountain's Carnelius Green averaged 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game and was named Rookie of the Week.

    UMF's Ben Johnson led the Beavers to a 3-0 week, posting a double-double in a pair of conference match-ups and scoring 20 points in a non-conference win over Bates, earning Player of the Week honors. Mike Dias averaged 18 points and 5.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week for Colby-Sawyer and was named Rookie of the Week.

    Husson's Luis Medina averaged 20 points in a pair of wins this weekend and was named NAC Player of the Week. Mike Dias led Colby-Sawyer to a 2-1 week, averaging 19 points and 10.3 rebounds per game to earn Rookie of the Week honors.

    Mark Comstock led Castleton to a 3-0 week, including a pivotal win over UMF to give the Spartans sole possession of first place, and earned NAC Player of the Week. Colby-Sawyer's Koang Thok averaged 16 points per game to help the Chargers to a 3-0 week and earn NAC Rookie of the Week accolades.

    Martin Cleveland was nearly unstoppable for Thomas this week, averaging 20 points and 11 rebounds while shooting 75% from the field to earn NAC Player of the Week accolades. Johnson State's Cory Chase was named NAC Rookie of the Week for the second-straight week, averaging 11 points and 6.5 rebounds per game while shooting 91% from the floor.

    Jarrad DeVaughn led Thomas to a pair of conference wins averaging 21.5 points, including a 30-point performance in Saturday's win to earn NAC Player of the Week honors. Koang Thok averaged 17 points in helping Colby-Sawyer to a pair of convincing NAC wins and was named Rookie of the Week.

    The University of Maine at Farmington posted a pair of conference road wins to remain unbeaten in league play, and in the process swept this week's awards. Sophomore Pet Sumner averaged 18 points and shot 50% from the field, garnering Player of the Week honors while freshman forward Joe McCloskey averaged 13.7 points, including a career-high 20 in an overtime win over Colby-Sawyer and was named NAC Rookie of the Week.

    Colby-Sawyer opened conference play a perfect 2-0, thanks in large part to the individual perfomances of Will Bardaglio and Koang Thok who swept this week's conference awards. Bardaglio shot better than 50% from three-point land (14-27) and averaged 17.7 points in three wins to garner Player of the Week honors, while Thok averaged 17 points and 6.3 rebounds and was named Rookie of the Week.

    Lyndon's Jason Gray averaged 21.3 points and 8.7 rebounds over three games this past week to earn NAC Player of the Week honors. Freshman Carnelius Green scored a team-high 16 points and pulled down nine boards for Green Mountain in the Eagles' only contest and was named NAC Rookie of the Week.

    Colby-Sawyer freshman Mike Dias opened his career averaging a solid 13.7 points per game, while shooting better than 50% from the field to earn NAC Player of the Week Honors. Robert Holloway opened his collegiate career with 22 points in an 83-80 win for Green Mountain to earn Rookie of the Week honors.
  • Thomas Chosen to Win NAC Men's Basketball Title in Preseason Poll
    November 10, 2011
    Thomas College has been chosen the preseason favorite to win the NAC men's basketball title in a vote conducted by the league's coaches. The Terriers received six first place votes and 95 total points to top the poll, while defending NAC Champion Husson received the other four first place votes and finished second with 87 points.
