2011-12 North Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball All-Conference Teams Announced

Castleton junior Mark Comstock has been selected the 2011-12 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Year in a vote of the league's coaches. Comstock led the high-scoring Spartan offense, averaging 16.4 points in conference play. Comstock ranked in the top-ten in rebounding (6.8 r/g), field goal percentage (51.8%) and free-throw percentage (77.9%).

Joining Comstock on the All-Conference First Team is Colby-Sawyer guard Will Bardaglio, Thomas guard Jarrad DeVaughn, as well as center Ben Johnson and guard Pet Sumner from University of Maine at Farmington.

The sharp-shooting Bardaglio ranked fourth in the conference in three-pointers made (54) and three-point field goal percentage (43.9%), while landing in the top-ten in scoring (14.5 p/g) and free-throw percentage (82.8%).

DeVaughn ranked second amongst all scorers in conference play, averaging 18.1 points per game. It is the third time the junior has earned a spot on the all-conference list, and second-consecutive as a first team recipient.

Johnson was also named the conference Defensive Player of the Year in addition to his first team status. The sophomore big man ranked fifth in scoring (16.3 p/g) and led the league in rebounding at 10.7 per contest. He also ranked second in field goal percentage (59.2%) and sixth in blocks (15).

Sumner ranked among the leaders in three-pointers made (56), three-point percentage (38.9%) and scoring (14.8 p/g) as a sophomore.

Colby-Sawyer first-year forward Koang Thok earned Rookie of the Year accolades, ranking among the leaders in scoring at 15.4 points per game in league play.

Castleton Head Coach Paul Culpo was voted Coach of the Year by his peers after leading the Spartans to a 15-3 mark in conference play and the top-seed in the NAC Tournament. It is the second time he has earned the award in three seasons at the helm.

Johnson State College was honored with the league's Sportsmanship Award.
