Player of the Week

Ryan Chasse, Thomas
(Junior - Fort Kent, Maine)

Chasse earned six wins in a busy week of tennis in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Chasse paired with Kaleb Payson (Lamoine, Maine) to win three out of four matches at the No. 1 doubles position. The one match they lost came down to a 7-3 tiebreaker set. In No. 1 singles action, Chasse dispatched three of his four opponents handily, blanking one opponent 6-0, 6-0; and besting the others 6-3, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-1.

   

Rookie of the Week

Laif Lundstrom, SUNY Delhi
(Freshman - Glenville, New York)

Lundstrom came back from 4-1 deficit at No. 1 doubles on Sunday, as he and Marcos Andrino (Yorktown Heights, New York) defeated College of St. Elizabeth's top pair by an 8-4 score. He kept the winning momentum heading into singles competition, where Lundstrom bested his opponent in No. 1 singles with duplicate 6-3 scores to give the Broncos their match-clinching fifth win in a 7-2 victory over the Eagles.
