Lyndon State College claimed the 2013 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Men's Cross Country Championship for the fifth time in six years at Quarry Road Park hosted by Thomas College on Sunday afternoon.
Lyndon cruised to a first place finish scoring 27 points with three runners in the top five, including the individual winner of the race Kyle Powers, who crossed the finish line at 27:42. 101 runners total participated in the 8k race, representing 10 schools.
Colby-Sawyer was runner-up with 80 points, Castleton tallied 84 points to come in third, Maine Maritime Academy was a close fourth with 90, while University of Maine at Farmington rounded out the top five with 132 points. New England College took sixth at 162 and Johnson State was right behind them at 196, followed by Thomas with 199 points. Husson and Green Mountain rounded out the field at 216 and 271 respectively.
Matt Methot of Maine Maritime was runner-up individually coming in at 28:03, while Hayden Bunnell of Colby-Sawyer was third at 28:26. Kenedi Hall and Tyler Scheilbenpflug of Lyndon rounded out the top five with times of 28:46 and 28:58.
