NAC Women's Soccer Weekly Honors (Week Ending 11/4/18)

Player of the Week

Lydia Roy, UMaine-Farmington

(Sr., F - Waterville, Maine)

Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year Lydia Roy continued her impressive season into the NAC tournament, leading the Beavers through two upsets all the way to the NAC Championship and into the NCAA national tournament. The forward kept the pressure high throughout both games, and scored an unassisted insurance goal in the championship to upset the top-seeded Thomas squad and claim tournament MVP honors.

Defensive Player of the Week

Callie Hammer, UMaine-Farmington

(So., GK - Ellsworth, Maine)

Callie Hammer tended the net in two playoff games for the Beavers, who came away with the NAC Championship for the first time since 2003. She had a four-save shutout performance against No. 2 Maine Maritime in the semifinal game, facing five corners in the contest. Hammer faced five more corner kicks and needed only one save against top-seeded Thomas to come away with an .833 save percentage and the win in the NAC Championship.

Rookie of the Week

Katherine Hoving, Thomas

(Fr., F - Bristol, Maine)

NAC Rookie of the Year Katherine Hoving assisted on the Terriers opening goal in a 2-1 NAC semifinal win over Husson on Saturday. The freshman found Nikki Bradstreet in front of an open net for the go-ahead helper. Later in the game, her shot on goal deflected off the Husson keeper and directly to Bradstreet for the game-winning goal. Hoving was also named to the NAC All-Tournament Team for her performance over the weekend.
