NAC Women's Soccer Weekly Honors (9/30/19 - 10/6/19)


Player of the Week

  McKenna Brodeur, UMaine-Farmington
Junior, F - Oakland, Maine

Brodeur played in three games this week and notched one goal and one assist in each game for a total of nine points. She led the Beavers to two conference wins, including a 2-0 victory against Thomas College in which she tallied the game-winner unassisted, then dished the assist on the insurance goal. In a 2-1 overtime win versus SUNY Delhi, she assisted on the first goal and scored the game-winning goal unassisted.





Defensive Player of the Week

Callie Hammer, UMaine-Farmington
Junior, GK - Ellsworth, Maine

Hammer started two games in goal this week, including a rematch of last year's NAC Championship against Thomas. Hammer made 11 saves in the shutout against Thomas, and later made nine saves against SUNY Delhi for a total of 20 saves this week. Hammer's goals-against-average was 0.49 and her weekly save percentage reached .952 as the Beavers went 3-0 on the week. Hammer leads the NAC in saves so far this season with 90. 





 Rookie of the Week

Alexa Thayer, Husson
First-Year, M - New Gloucester, Maine

Thayer tallied her second goal of the season to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute against Northern Vermont-Johnson. Heading out of the break, the midfielder slotted a ball to Bri Saulter at the top of the box to assist on the game-winner and break the 1-1 stalemate. Thayer converted one of two shots on goal in the triumph while collecting her first collegiate assist.
