NAC Women's Soccer Weekly Honors (10/21/19 - 10/29/19)


Player of the Week

Haley Fletcher, UMaine-Farmington
Sophomore, F - Monmouth, Maine

Fletcher had an impressive 13-point week for the Beavers, scoring six goals on eight shots on goal for a .750 shooting percentage. She scored a hat trick against both NVU-Johnson and NVU-Lyndon, and added an assist against the Hornets. UMaine-Farmington's two-NAC-win week secured the #3 seed and first-round hosting rights in the conference tournament that begins this weekend.




Defensive Player of the Week

Margot Simeon, Maine Maritime
Sophomore, M - Findlay, Ohio

Simeon helped lead the Mariners to a 2-1 week, and their eighth and ninth shutouts of the season with a 1-0 win over UMaine-Presque Isle and a 2-0 win over Thomas. The sophomore defensive midfielder helped hold the Owls, who averaged 2.41 goals-per-game entering the contest, to just three total shots, and one shot on goal. Similarly, the Mariners' defensive line held the Terriers, who averaged 1.85 goals-per-game, to just two shots on goal. Maine Maritime enters the conference tournament as the undefeated #1 seed and will host the final four next weekend.




 Rookie of the Week

  Laura Blue, Maine Maritime
 First-year, F - Brisbane, Australia

After battling back from an injury early in the week, Blue scored the game-winning goal for the Mariners in a 2-0 win over Thomas on Tuesday night. The victory preserved the Mariners' unblemished regular season conference record and secured the top seed in the NAC tournament.
