NAC Women's Tennis Championship: Semifinal 2

Woburn, Mass. - Top-seeded Husson University cruised through the second semifinal match with a 5-0 win over #4 Northern Vermont-Lyndon. The Eagles advance to the championship match against #2 Lesley University, which will begin at 3:30 pm today.

Semifinal 2: #1 Husson 5 - #4 NVU-Lyndon 0

Husson jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead at the conclusion of doubles play. Eagles #2 doubles pair Ashley Matlock and Nicci Munroe defeated Oo Mai Be and Erika Hayakawa, 8-0. No. 3 doubles partners Marisa Brown and Jocelyn Bell defeated Ro Ze Yar and Hayley DeMars, 8-0. The #1 doubles pair Hannah Malinen and Natalie Tilton defeated the Hornets top pair, Emilie Dube and Savannah Jackson, 8-1, to take a big lead into the singles portion of the match.

The first singles match to conclude was at the #6 position. Husson's Jocelyn Bell defeated Hayley DeMars, 6-0, 6-0.

Player of the Year Ashley Matlock clinched the semifinal win for the Eagles with a 6-1, 6-0 win against NVU-Lyndon's #1 Emilie Dube.

The Hornets conclude their season at 3-9 while the Eagles move to 9-1 and advance to the championship match.
