  • Green Mountain Tabs Eno to Lead Softball & Volleyball Programs

    Poultney, VT - Green Mountain College Director of Athletics, Marybeth Lennox is pleased to announce the hiring of Erica Eno as the new head coach of the GMC women’s volleyball and softball teams. “We’re very excited to add Erica to our coaching staff,” said Lennox. “Throughout the search process, Coach Eno showed the leadership qualities we value, and her wealth of experience and knowledge made her an excellent fit for the softball and women’s volleyball programs. Erica’s competitive fire, combined with a passion for helping her student-athletes develop into well rounded people impressed us, and we are confident she will help our young people have outstanding collegiate experiences.”

    Husson junior middle hitter Hannah Olstad has been selected the 2011 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Women’s Volleyball Player of the Year in a vote of the league’s coaches. Olstad posted a league-best 3.92 kills per set in conference play, and ranked fourth with a .335 hitting percentage.

    Colby-Sawyer's Kristin Sawyer garnered NAC Player of the Week honors, averaging 11.33 assists per set in a 2-0 week for the Chargers. Marina Tello helped UMF to a first round win in the NAC Tournament with a team-high 10 digs and was named Rookie of the Week.

Jackie Keating had an efficient week for Colby-Sawyer, posting 20 kills in three matches, while hitting .428 in a pair of NAC wins to earn Rookie of the Week honors.

  • Maine Maritime Tabbed to Make it Five-Straight NAC Women's Volleyball Titles in Poll

    Maine Maritime Academy has been chosen the preseason favorite to win their fifth-straight NAC women's volleyball title in a vote conducted by the league's coaches. The Mariners earned three first-place votes and return virtually everyone from last season’s championship squad which went a perfect 6-0 in conference play and dropped just one set all season.
