Lafrance averaged 2.89 kills and 2.56 digs per set as the Roos split a pair of matches at their home tri-match last weekend. The junior opened the weekend with seven kills and ten digs in a four-set loss to Elmira. Then, Lafrance led the team to a thrilling comeback from two sets down to force a fifth set with Plattsburgh. Trailing 11-3 in the fifth, the Roos roared back again to earn a 16-14 fifth-set and match win versus Plattsburgh. She totaled 19 kills (.349 hitting percentage) to go with 13 digs in the 3-2 win.
Defensive Player of the Week
Jenna Roat, SUNY Canton
Senior, LB - Penfield, New York
Roat averaged 4.78 digs and 1.11 service aces per set as the Roos split a pair of matches at their home tri-match last weekend. She finished with match-bests of 15 digs and seven service aces in a 3-1 loss to Elmira. The senior followed that up with a match-high 28 digs, to go with four assists and three aces, in a thrilling come-from-behind victory over Plattsburgh in five sets. Roat also chipped in 14 points with 4 kills and seven assists across both matches.
Rookie of the Week
Porsche Johnson, Northern Vermont-Johnson
First-year, OH - Dallas, Texas
Johnson recorded 25 kills with a .208 hitting percentage, as well as 33 points, 10 digs, seven total blocks, three aces, and two assists across three non-conference matches last week. Johnson led the Badgers both offensively and defensively in a 3-2 win over Wells College with 16.5 points, 14 kills, four digs, and four total blocks.
