NAC Volleyball Weekly Honors (10/21/19 - 10/27/19)


 

Player of the Week

Alexa Cacacie, Maine Maritime
Senior, MH - Manahawkin, New Jersey

Cacacie helped lead the Mariners to a perfect 3-0 week against NAC volleyball opponents, Husson, NVU-Lyndon and NVU-Johnson. The senior middle hitter totaled 22 aces (2.75 sa/s) and 14 kills (1.75 k/s) while hitting .417 on the week. She also logged five blocks (0.63 b/s), three digs and two assists. In the Mariners' 3-0 win over Husson, Cacacie tallied six kills, five aces, three blocks and a dig while hitting .333 percent. Cacacie recorded seven aces and a kill against NVU-Lyndon, and followed that up with 10 aces, seven kills (hitting .455 percent), two digs, two blocks, and two assists against NVU-Johnson.

 

 

 


Defensive Player of the Week

Jenna Roat, SUNY Canton
Senior, LB - Penfield, New York

Roat averaged 4.33 digs, 1.00 assist and 0.50 aces per set as the Roos earned a pair of crucial sweeps in NAC play. She registered 13 digs each in wins versus UMaine-Presque Isle and SUNY Delhi, while combining for six assists and four aces. The Roos improve to 3-1 in league play and a tie for second place in the standings entering the final weekend of conference play.

 

 

  


 Rookie of the Week

Ashton Houppert, SUNY Canton
First-year, S - Lowville, New York

Houppert averaged 7.33 assists, 2.17 digs and 0.67 aces per set as the Roos earned a pair of crucial sweeps in NAC play. She opened the weekend with 20 assists, six digs and three aces versus UMaine-Presque Isle. The rookie followed that up with 24 assists, seven digs, and another ace as Canton earned a crucial sweep against SUNY Delhi. The Roos improve to 3-1 in league play and a tie for second place in the standings with one week left in the conference schedule.
