Terion Moss, University of Maine at Farmington

UMaine-Farmington’s Terion Moss led the Beavers to a pair of wins over divisional rival and defending NAC Champion Husson University in back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday. In a pair of games with massive playoff implications, Moss led the way in both. On Friday night, Moss notched 22 points and dished out eight assists without a turnover in the Beavers’ 82-76 victory. On Saturday, Moss put up 27 points, including 19 in the second half, and shot an efficient 10-of-11 from the free-throw line. With the Beavers only up a point at halftime, Moss took over and scored 19 points down the stretch to help secure the Beavers’ second victory of the weekend over Husson. Earlier in the week, Moss charted 16 points, seven boards, and six assists versus in-state rival Bowdoin College out of the NESCAC.
Co-Defensive Players of the Week
Justin Phillips, Northern Vermont-Lyndon
First Year / Phoenix, Arizona
Northern Vermont-Lyndon’s Justin Phillips was integral to the Hornets' 3-0 week. He defended the opponent's best perimeter player in each game and disrupted opponents' offense. Statistically, he averaged 7.1 rebounds as a guard and recorded five steals and four blocked shots. Over two games against Thomas, Phillips charted two blocks, four steals, and 14 defensive boards, and logged his first career double-double in Saturday’s clash with the Terriers with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Jack Kane, University of Maine at Farmington
Senior / Cumberland, Maine
Kane was once again a force this week for the Beavers on the defensive end of the court. Kane picked up a pair of blocks and a steal on Wednesday against Bowdoin while adding 8 boards. Kane picked up a pair of steals on Friday at home in a huge game against Husson, in a Beavers 82-76 victory. Kane also grabbed 9 rebounds and picked up 22 points in the contest. On Saturday evening against Husson, Kane tallied 4 blocks and 8 defensive rebounds helping to lead the Beavers to a 76-58 win over the Eagles once again.
Rookie of the Week
Gregory Gonyea Jr., Northern Vermont-Lyndon
First Year | Dolgeville, New York
NVU-Lyndon guard Gregory Gonyea Jr. had a big week as the Hornets went 3-0. He averaged 18.3 points and three assists per contest and had nine assists against only four turnovers. He shot 55.6% from the floor including a 33.3% clip from three-point range, and 90.9% at the free-throw line. He was +60 in 78 minutes played for the week. On the season, Gregory is 13th in scoring in conference games, averaging 15.4 points per game.
