NAC Women's Basketball Weekly Awards - Feb. 15, 2023

Note: In accordance with North Atlantic Conference policies regarding selection of Athletes of the Week in the final week of the regular season, this week's Women's Basketball Athletes of the Week were selected after the completion of all games on Monday, Feb. 13, and Tuesday, Feb. 14.

Player of the Week

Bailey Donovan, Husson University
Senior | Island Falls, Maine
Husson’s Bailey Donovan put together one of the most dominating games in Husson women's basketball history, posting a 26-point, 25-rebound double-double against Maine Maritime Academy. Donovan's 25 rebounds tied the program record for rebounds in a game while adding two assists and six blocks in the win over 38 minutes. Donovan was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week earlier in the week, and was also tabbed for Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Week honors.
 

Defensive Player of the Week

Gabriella Wardwell, Northern Vermont-Johnson

Northern Vermont-Johnson center Gabriella Wardwell hauled down double-digit defensive rebounds in each of the Badgers’ three games last week, starting with 20 defensive boards to go with 20 points in a one-point overtime loss at SUNY Cobleskill. She came back to 15 defensive rebounds with a block and a steal in a win over SUNY Delhi, and capped the week with 10 defensive boards and two blocks versus Northern Vermont-Lyndon to close out the 2022-23 regular season. For the week, Wardwell averaged 15.0 defensive rebounds; at the offensive end of the court, she averaged 18.0 points and charted three double-doubles.
 

Rookie of the Week

Hope Aniceto, SUNY Canton
First Year | Bolingbrook, Illinois
SUNY Canton’s Hope Aniceto earned NAC Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week honors for the third consecutive week after averaging 13.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game as the Roos split a pair of conference games last weekend. The rookie opened the week with nine points, four assists, three rebounds and a steal in an 80-47 road win at SUNY Delhi on Friday. Aniceto closed out the week with a game-high 17 points on 6-for-13 shooting from the field and a 4-for-7 mark from three to go with three rebounds and two steals in a 62-51 road loss at SUNY Cobleskill (15-9) on Saturday.
