The SUNY Cobleskill men’s lacrosse team took two-of-three games on the week posting a 26-7 non-league road win over Wells College Express on Wednesday, followed by a weekend split against Thomas College and Northern Vermont-Lyndon. The Fighting Tigers were led by senior attackman William Bockhaus, who scored 12 goals, passed out 12 assists, picked up 14 ground balls and caused two turnovers on the week.
Defensive Player of the Week
Jed Astbury, Maine Maritime Academy

Maine Maritime Academy midfielder Jed Astbury was impressive from the face-off “X” this week, securing possession for the Mariners and helping them to a 2-0 week against two NAC opponents to stay unbeaten in NAC play. The senior face off specialist went 69.6% on the week from the face-off X, while scooping up 25 ground balls over the two games. In the Mariners’ 14-11 come-from-behind win over SUNY Poly, Astbury went 15-of-29 on the face-off (51.7%) and scooped up eight ground balls. Astbury came up huge in the final minutes of the game to help the team kill off a two-minute locked in penalty with two crucial face-off wins. Astbury also scored a goal in the final minute of the game, when he won the face-off and took it straight to the net, to help secure the 14-11 win. In a 28-5 win over Cazenovia on Sunday, Astbury went 88.8% on the face-off, while scooping up a program-record tying 17 ground balls.
Rookie of the Week
Jacob Hintermaier, Maine Maritime Academy
First Year | Attackman | Macon, Georgia
Jacob Hintermaier helped lead the Mariners to a 2-0 week against NAC opponents to remain unbeaten in conference play, tallying eight goals and five assists for a total of 13 points. The first-year scored four goals, dished out an assist on a huge man-down goal to extend the lead to two with 66 seconds to go in the game, while also scooping up a ground ball and causing a turnover in Maine Maritime’s huge 14-11 win over SUNY Poly on Friday night. He followed that up on Sunday with four goals and a career and game-high five assists in the team’s 28-5 win over Cazenovia.
