Maine Maritime senior attackman Jayden Wilson helped lead the Mariners to a 2-0 week to wrap up regular season play, and preserve an undefeated record in conference play (8-0) with nine goals, six assists, four ground balls and two caused turnovers. In the team’s 23-6 win over Thomas on Wednesday, Wilson tallied a game-high nine points on four goals and five assists, while scooping up a ground ball. In a big 17-9 Senior Day victory over SUNY Canton on Saturday, Wilson recorded a game-high five goals, to go along with one assist, three ground balls and two caused turnovers. In that game he also broke the MMA single-season record for goals (57) and points (94).
Defensive Player of the Week
Will Arnone, Maine Maritime Academy

MMA’s Will Arnone anchored the Mariner defense that played a big part of the team’s 2-0 week and preserved an undefeated record in conference play (8-0), by scooping up 13 ground balls and causing three turnovers over the two games. Arnone scooped up six ground balls and caused a turnover in Maine Maritime’s 23-6 win over Thomas College on Wednesday, helping tame the Terriers who entered the contest averaging 10.5 goals per game. On Saturday, Arnone scooped up a career-high seven ground balls and also caused two turnovers to help the team to a 17-9 win over SUNY Canton, holding the Roos well below their goals per game average (11.84) entering the matchup.
Rookie of the Week
Hayden Todd, SUNY Canton

SUNY Canton’s Hayden Todd had a big week making 37 saves (.673 save %) as the Roos went 2-1 in three conference games last week. He opened the week stopping 15 of the 20 shots he faced (.750 save %) in 53 minutes of action in a 15-5 NAC win v. SUNY Cobleskill on Wednesday. Todd followed that up by recording 22 saves (.629 save %) in a 17-9 road loss at Maine Maritime (12-3, 8-0 NAC) on Saturday to keep the Roos in the game throughout against the Mariners who finished conference play unbeaten. In Tuesday’s season finale against Lyndon, he played a shutout opening half in goal on his way to earning his fifth win of the season. In the second half, he played in the field for the first time this season scoring his first career goal and registering his first career assist. The win v. the Hornets was just the second shutout in program history for the Roos and the first in the D-III era and in the last 10 years.
